Fat Han is the only large base I've noticed Nantexes are distinctly put off by. All, others, they can just fly circles around at leisure.

Ran Sun Fac last night and all I can say is I was underwhelmed. The Nantex is going to be a tricky beast to work out. I like the concept, but the application is going to take a lot of practice. That being said, I am glad for the tractor beam change. It makes sense and is less crippling for larger based ships. As an avid Shadowcaster fan this will make things a little more difficult, but sometimes you just have to roll with the punches

Yesterday, I ran Sun Fac with ensnare and snapshot together with Darth Maul in his ship with hate, Palpatine, title and proton bombs.

First game against empire with Echo and onyx defender and Shuttle. Quite straight game with a surviving 1 HP Darth Maul and 2 HP Sun Fac. Other player was wiped.

Second game vs an experienced rebel player running Wedge, Luke, Jake and Dutch. He lost his Wedge quite early and Jake only a while later. After having reduced Luke to only 1 HP he surrendered (rebel scum). Astonishing fact: I lost only two shields on Maul this game.

So, long Story cut short: Sun Fac earned his call sign Sun "f*" Fac.

Initial reaction, then, is that the Nantex is going to require much practice, but is entertaining. I just don't know where all the hate and the doom an gloom is coming from in that other thread.

I agree that after playing a game with one i decided to pick up a 2nd copy of them. 2 looks like it will be the magic number for fun shenannigans

I really don't understand the doom and gloom either.. They are definitely annoying but they die pretty quickly to focus fire. I didn't find them that powerful at all.

Anyways, i came up with a lulz list that i plan to try out on my next game with chertek, sun fac and 3 trade drones each with discord missles. The plan is to throw out the buzz droids in all areas in between rocks, then have fun tractoring enemy ships both into rocks and on buzz droids how i see fit. It's going to be entertaining for me at least

Friend of mine was looking at similar, I suggested this:

Definitely makes more sense to slot another ace over impervium

Impervium is currently 0-5 on my other Grievous list...

You can also sneak in 404 instead of the hive guard.

Absolutely, but it depends on what you can get with the points difference

I'm less fond of 404 (and droids in general) without probes

I guess 404 could bring probes but that ain't helping the Nantex

I had to miss last week's gaming and will miss this week's as well. I have to take the son to bagpipe lessons as the wife is out of town. Dang....just when I get new toys. At least I got to play it once.

They're worth it. A lot of fun actually. Especially against ships that can't shake them, forcing your opponent to shoot them or make weird maneuvers with ships that can shake them off, take them from ships that can't

They seem to pair really well with nantex tractoring shenanigans

Weirdly enough, most of the time, Buzz Droids never get shot at. They're at R0 of the ship they're attached to, so that ship can't shoot which means a buddy needs it in arc and even then you're losing damage.

Biggest buzz draw for me (other than **** yeah guaranteed damage) is they fire off regardless of initiative

So. I have played with the Nantex only 3 times now. I don’t see the issue or the uproar to be honest.

In addition, I just wanted to post something to keep this thread on top.
