Any thoughts on how to boost the defense of ships with 1 Agility? Just try to keep a focus token at all times? Is there an upgrade that will give you an additional defense die?
Single Defense Die ships

There are several options - depending on the ship.
- Stealth device gives you a bonus die, but since you lose it as soon as you're damaged, it's generally a bad idea for a low-agility ship. You need to dodge attacks completely and roll that die serveral times to get your money's worth, so it's best on something high agility with focus + evade (TIE phantoms or Soontir Fel).
- Some pilot abilities give you extra dice or extra results. Norra Wexley, for example, adds an evade result when she has an enemy at range 1, whilst Captain Feroph essentially can't fail to roll an evade on his single die if the attacker either spends their focus on the shot or didn't have one in the first place.
- Selfless (the Rebel signature talent) lets you 'smear' damage out across several ships by drawing off critical results so no one ship takes fatal damage.
- Hull and shield upgrades let you just take your lumps and keep going - since they get a discount for less agile ships they're not a bad buy.
Arguably, single defence die ships have an advantage over those with more, as their health becomes more mathematically 'finite' so you have a better idea of how long they're going to stick around rather than being at the mercy of the green dice (treacherous little buggers that they are). With that in mind, by far the best way to improve their defensive capabilities is with more health from Hull or Shield upgrades.

This is it. You need a solid plan for your low AG ships. The predictability of the damage they'll take really helps nail the plan down. Once you have an idea of what it's job will be, you can build to suit the role.
I feel like attempting to mitigate the damage they'll take is a trap and will only detract from whatever you're attempting to use them for. Exceptions being those few pilots who have abilities that suit tanking hits.
You could also try the talent Elusive but it's not really reliable and will only be useful a few times in a game

When it comes to low agility ships, the best defence is a strong offence!
Make your opponent think twice about getting in your face...
Keep your arcs spread and overlapped, and force them to pass over mods in favour of repositioning to minimise how much damage you’ll be putting back into them!
