Selecting Specific Spells

I have a problem, I'm making a summoner and have The Gift advantage. I chose some spells using table 57 on page 113( I have 11 pow so my magic lvl is 50) and I picked some spells from Book of Creation, healing types. But my friend sayed that I can't for example take Recreate which is lvl 76 and that is higher than my magice lvl.

Your max Magic Level is derived from your Intelligence not Power.

In addition to the other post, lets just say you do have 50 path levels to spend.

So your GM may want to use the optional rules in the GM toolkit to balance which spells and the maximum rank of spells you can learn in a single path. this means that you would get 25 of your 50 path levels to spend in a medium supernatural campaign at level one. In addition, you cannot have a path with more than 50 ranks in it (including the natural knowledge of a path advantage). This usually means for free buying spells that you can use those 25 ranks to buy any spell (or several) below path level 50.

This is not due to the fact that your 'max path level' by the table in the core book is 50 (these are in actuality your 'path points' to spend) but because the GM toolkit suggestions.

hope that helps

ty helped a great deal
