I'm finally getting around to painting Leia and want to go with the blue/tan uniform from RotJ like the box art. Coming from 40k, I'm using Citadel paints. What blues and tans have people used to get a good result?
Thanks in advance!

It is really nice!!
I think maybe that might be apart of the issue, using paints from a company from an entirely different game. Hopefully I am wrong in your case, yet I use Vallejo and never had any issues. Personally in my opinion and I used to play Warhammer too using Citadel for my necrons, I like Vallejo better. As I said in a few other posts, even the white can be used over black. Personally and maybe unfortunately I haven't found anything better than Vallejo yet, and originally I used Citadel. Maybe or not it is each to their own; regardless when it comes to Star Wars Legion I strongly believe the colors Vallejo have are better than Citadel which is more of a Fantasy Medieval anime feel rather than realistic...for all the haters, the hues don't line up with reality at all in the star wars universe or in ours either though very much match what would be shown in an anime or fantasy coloring.
You of course may use any companies paint, since I am not getting paid or affiliated in any way to vallejo.. I'm speaking from a source of personal experience and through all my life having unusually good grades & awards in art/drawing. Some other companies are needy, they need you to use lighter shades to use lighter shades yet vallejo doesn't. You can prime a storm trooper black then paint white, and the white is the exact color straight out of the bottle applied.
Ultimately, regardless what paint you use know its pros and cons and how to use it.

Thanks, I really like Sorastro's guides. However in his one for Leia, her jacket appears green vs the light blue from the movie. Maybe I'll take the same color he uses for the pants and try it on the jacket and adjust the wash or highlights to break them up.

That's fair. Then which Vallejo colors would you recommend for that light blue grey of the jacket and light tan under shirt?

Sometimes it is a bad photograph or a diferent light, but leia's jacket is a Green Grey, while trousers are blueish Grey.

Here you will find an oficial image, and there's a lot more material on the Internet and believe me, every colour selection I've done even in photoshop shows a very desaturated green color.

Personally I'd use Vallejo's Deck Tan, or possibly Khaki to replicate that color.
Maybe Vallejo Model Color Stencil or Pale Grey Blue, with Vallejo Model Color Beige.
Thanks for the input on the colors. I'll give Vallejo a try and see how they turn out.

Yes, if it is a true grey color, then the lights will affect much more than any other color. Of course in this image looks blue, but in this one:
It is clearly green. Perhaps it is a perfect grey XDDD
Anyway, I'd say the skin tone and the trousers are correct in the lower image, in yours the skin is clearly hued to violet (blue).
And suposedly the starship wall that is behind Leia should be white, and it is blue... so the image you have chosen is perhaps slightly turned to blue.
And in lower image we don't know the background so... could be good?
I'd say it is a perfect grey or perhaps green, I don't think it is blue.
