What Ship should be cycled into Hyperspace last?
What Ship should be cycled out of Hyperspace first?
What Ship should be cycled into Hyperspace last?
What Ship should be cycled out of Hyperspace first?
What should each of the factions do? Which archetypes should be present in the game (and from which faction?)?
As an imperial player I miss the palp ace-style build, and hope we'll get the lambda shuttle. While I think ships like the TIE aggressor and the TIE punisher contributes to playstyles that should be less dominant or belong to other factions. The same goes for the TIE bomber, and I won't miss it if it gets cycled out.
Rebels might have too many ships in the same archetype? The x-wing, the y-wing and the b-wing does quite similar things, and you might not need all three?
Looking at Wave 4, it seems very likely that the Decimator will be the next Imperial ship added. I'd prefer the Lambda first, but they've chosen otherwise.
Not sure any will leave this time, but I suspect that the Reaper will be first out, possibly when they do add the Lambda, since it fills the same sort of niche (cheaper crew carrier).
The other factions are harder to predict, but adding A-wings already suggests that it will be part of Wave 5.
If the Phantom never become HS legal it would be too soon...
The Lambda would be nice, although it looks like we're getting the Deci next. I would imagine the Reaper and x1 get cycled out for the Empire, while the other factions are more difficult.

Why do you say that? I think the weird movement pattern of the Phantom is really interesting and fits quite well into the imperial arsenal. Remember that points will change.
FO/Resistance/Separatists/Republic: leave them alone for now
Empire: As much as I love Phantoms, in their current state they'd have to be last in. First out could probably be reapers. I really want V1s in.
Rebel: Last in should be, uh, I actually don't care. Sabine's TIE I guess? Maybe the VCX? First out probably U-Wings. Something about that transition wave makes it an easy target for me. I'd love to see Auzitucks in for some reason.
Scum: Last in: spacetug. I don't actually think it's a problem ship, but playing against it as a newer player is a nightmare. First out: Fangs. F those guys. I'd love to see the IGs show up soon.
I think all factions should have a base model that never cycles out of Hyperspace, like such:
Rebels: T-65 X-Wing
Empire: TIE Fighter
Resistance: T-70 X-Wing
Jedi: Aethersprite
CIS: Drone Fighter
Scum: Firespray
Otherwise, I think they should have a 4-wave limit on what's in Hyperspace, with 2 waves cycling out twice per year.
How many ships do we want in each faction?
last ship in:
Scurg - gunboat - k-wing
first out : no idea
Depends how 'tight' they want Hyperspace to be.
For the Galactic Empire, I'd say the TIE/ln Figther should be available in any rotation.
Much as I don't want them to (as it's my favourite ship) I'd probably pick the TIE/sk Striker to rotate out first, simply because with the TIE/sa Bomber and TIE Interceptor added, most of the squad archetypes you might want a Striker for are more-or-less duplicate-able with other ships, whilst the TIE/x1 has a much more distinctive play-style, not to mention the iconic Darth Vader pilot.
It's not likely we'll have any ship rotate out from the 4 newest factions. Having said that, these are the ships I think might get rotate out:
Rebel:
Y-wing - Reb players are getting too comfortable with their cheap double tapping work horse.
Imperial:
Reaper - As noted by others, the Decimator is coming so that's the reason to expect it to be pushed out.
Scum:
YT-1300 - I'd like to see the Falcon replaced with a different large based ship for personal preference really. The Falcon, Chewie and Han never sat well for me as a bad guys. Give me the YV-666 or the Lancer!
I'd also like to get rid of the scum TIE fighters, and bring in the Kihraxz.
Gunboats should be in Hyperspace.
Wait, you wanted more than that.
Scum should have y-wings and HWKs.. Rebels? I’m not to sure what they have really. Not seen ARCs. They should have ARCs.
I really want the IG-2000/aggressor brought into Hyperspace. I think it's a fun & flexible scum ship (unlike the Z-95).
I would like to just see three waves to choose from. But, i doubt it willl happen. I doubt that T-65 and Tie fighters will ever rotate out. Those are the iconic ships.
Scum: HWK and M3-A for YT and Escape Craft
I doubt anything will ever be cycled out.

I kinda hope they'll keep hyperspace small but yeah I'm wondering if this is the case too...
I really think they should keep the Firespray and U-Wing in hyperspace the longest, they're the most unique. I'd be ok if we never saw the Kimogila again, it really doesn't serve a unique role and it looks too small and silly on its base.

🤨 Interesting. To me, despite the label of the faction, Scum is neither just good guys nor just bad guys. They're the ones that operate outside the bounds of whatever major faction is dominant at the time though so where they fall in the subjective moral scale will vary.

It isn't.

In addition to a base model, I think it'd make sense to have 1 of the 3 Falcons always in Hyperspace as well. Your list of base models (plus TIE/sf or /fo for First Order, you missed them) + one of Rebel/Resistance/Scum YT-1300 would pretty much cover all the most iconic ships of Star Wars.
Ack! You're right. I meant to include the TIE/fo. Though wasn't the fighter that Finn flew an /sf?

FinnPoe (Finn was in the gunner seat) flew an /sf?
Yes, Poe and Finn fled the Star Destroyer in TFA in a TIE/Sf.
I'd say the Core Set and Squadron Pack contents should be permanent ficturea in Hyperspace since they're jumping off points for new players.
Empire: TIE Phantoms
everybody else: don’t care
as Stated by others, don’t touch FO, resistance, republic, CIS right now. For the others:
rebels:
first out: Y-wings
B-wings are the lore replacement, and will be introduced in wave 3 (wave 3 B-wing meta?! WHAT YEAR IS IT!!!! :D) so it should be time to say goodbye to the workhorse of the rebellion, for now.
Alternative first out: U-wing
Currently used as a cheap Leia carrier, the U-wing is very dominant atm. Kick it out of hyperspace and make Rebels actually pay for a crew carrier (falcon) and the format will shake up quite a bit.)
First in: Hwk-290
hwks are cool. Of course replacing one cheap crew carrier for another defeats the purpose so... maybe YT-2400 instead?
Empire
First Out: Tie Advanced
introduction of soontir makes ace wing starting to look a little to cushy over in the empire camp. It might be time to replace the Tie advanced. Of course, Vader crew will still be around for the Deci. Also it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyways, No Vader in his Tie Advanced, No Luke in his X-wing. I think both factions can function fine without a force user in the cockpit, and I expect them out of the loop as pilots for a format or two. And if I’m wrong they can emergency add them back in.
(I highly doubt FFG would do this so soon, but anything is possible).
First in: Tie aggressor
Poor tie aggressor. Idk the last time I’ve seen this ship on the table. Make it hyperspace legal and remind people that it exists. I think a ship like that could potentially thrive in this kind of format.
Scum:
first out: Mining Guild Tie Generics
oddly specific, but with the Z-95 legal now, there doesn’t exactly need to be 2 swarm ship options. Leave the named guys, but let the generics go.
first in: Yv-666
Z-95s are legal. Natasha pup shenanigans commence!
