Cool thought. The brain would be like a nav-computer, but the warp/hyperspace jump would be other organs. There'd also have to some kind of broadcast to the other members of the pod to establish coordinates. Otherwise, how would a newborn Purgill ever make their first jump?

It's kind of interesting at the end of that episode, in answer to the question "what do we do now", Hera says "follow the Purgill". Which means she has a way to do that, which means the direction and duration of the jump is traceable due to some kind of space-time warp residue, or the Purgill are broadcasting something readable.
