Tools for custom campaigns?

By wincelet, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Fairly new, love the game.

Has anyone here tried making their own campaigns?

Anyone know of tools to help? (card templates would be the most helpful)

Vastly.

Strange Eons plugin.

It makes creating a campaign approximately 88% easier.

And then there's a number of programs and ways to manipulate the images. Simply using actual pictures gives an off feel for a game that always uses illustrations. And trying to find existing illustrations to match up with what you're trying to do can be time consuming and frustrating.

Wow! great stuff. Thank you so much.

Having done it, I'd say that getting the right images for the concepts you have in mind takes at least 75% of the creative time. It might not be something you think of going in, but it really is time consuming.

Particularly if you are paying attention to image usage rights. You'll need to comb archives for public domain or creative commons licensed works. And if you want them to at least be mostly consistent as far as medium and style, it takes much longer than you would anticipate.

I pulled image off of GIS and then used cartoonize.net to stylize them. Then manipulate in other image programs, maybe throw them back through a cartoon filter again, rinse, repeat. The average image probably took 1.5 - 2 hours. I found it was much, much easier to create a defined style than it was to find one.
