So I don't know if FFG is making Legion world tournament of this or continental / regional tournaments ( i'm not very much on the website / forum ) only peak once or two per week , but i read that it will be possible to combine both prequel and sequel characters.. i wonder how that will go if someone choose stormtroopers and clone troopers with the same painting. Will it be allowed to have both ? and after order 66, will clone troopers be considered empire unites in the game or go as rebels ? ( kinda joking )

They are different factions, so you can play against each other, but not combine into one army. From now you you can pick:

- Republic (Clones & Jedi)

- Separatists (Droids)

- Rebels (insurgent fighters)

- Imperials (Stormtroopers)

You are limited to one faction's units when building an army still, so you can't double dip into multiple faction's regardless of timeline. You can however have prequel faction verus original faction.

Are the separatists really just droids and the republic just clones? I haven’t seen the movies since release but surely with all the planets involved there would have been a plethora of planetary or system level militaries involved on both sides.

yeah, but they will likely release all of the iconic stuff before they start delving into naboo defense forces or geonosians

We don't know yet we have really only just had the core set and the first expansion for each faction announced. However it is reasonable to assume that most of the Republic units will be clones and most of the Separatists units will be droids

Technically the grand army of the republic was Jedi and clones. Anything else was just local assistance. But the separatists had a decent amount of non droid support for sure.

Wookie warriors should have been a republic unit.

I'm hoping they'll do more non-Clone/Droid units in the future, but it'll probably be down the line.

Wookiees, Naboo security units, Gungans, and Senate guard all come to mind for non-Clone Republic units. That's without going into Coruscant security or anything too obscure.

TECHNICALLY it was a fraternal organization for Union civil war veterans. Anything else was just a summer movie. But the movie version is more widely known for sure.

tbh all factions have many options, depend on how they are willing to expand their game. This game could last for years if they add Old Republic and sequel / spin off / comic stuff.. i mean i would love to get characters that aren't many well known or chosen. First i would like to get all Vader Mercenary team on this game ( we have bossk, hoping for some IG-88 or Dengar next ), and then using more species in game and other stuff. Star Wars universe isnt just Jedi / Sith / Stormtroopers / Rebels / Clones.. but that's me dreaming

Maybe late in the game, the same way we got Sabine. Precedent so far puts movie characters first, tv second. Lando and the droids might be the only plausible Legion unit exceptions.
