juke cards in servants of strife

By Oberron, in X-Wing

Why are there upgrades (juke) in an expansion that has no way to use it? Nothing in that box can Gain an evade token.

It should serve as a starter kit for the faction, allowing you to support future kits without a rerelease of many basic upgrades (like Juke). Let's say that the droid trifighter has access to evade; now juke is a little easier to obtain, as most separatist players will have the squadron kit.

Wouldn't it make more sense to add it in with the ship that can use it then instead of adding two copies of what is currently a wasted card for the faction as a whole? It's still a rerelease regardless of where it is going, and there is always the possibility that separatist just never get a ship with evade.

It could be to do with a card interaction rather than an ability, likely for the blubblub. Maybe a relay that allows you to trade a calculate for an evade, or a mod that let's you cloak.

It could also have been a mistake based on a change to a ship that nobody cross checked against the box contents. Perhaps the bubbalub had an evade action at one time. Stranger things have happened.

Check the Quick Builds.

No card interaction in the box, upgrade or pilot ability, gives evades. I'm thinking mistake.

None use juke.

Odd. Probably what dsul413 thinks since these are supposed to be faction starters of a sort.

How many copies are there? Mine haven't arrived yet.

Cause its juke. Everyone needs 1,546,729 of them.

The Republic pack has Saturation Salvo, but no ships than can use it. Think of these as mini-starters

Oh the good old days when I bought a TIE /fo just for another copy of Juke.

Likewise. I had one Juke, leant it to a friend but it was lost in transit when being returned. Got a 2nd Juke expansion with a spare Tie FO in, reduced a bit,...still haven't opened it!

However, both of the new triple packs have Composure and Afterburners in which show that FFG is working on their promise that you won't need out of faction purchases (eventually).

Perhaps there was a design change and Juke should have been removed from the pack and wasn't? Perhaps they needed to put a certain number of cards in the pack and for whatever reason Juke was a least bad option?

At least it doesn’t have something pointless like 1.0 expansions coming with determination and/or munitions failsafe 😂

it has plenty of copies of Munitions Failsafe, don't worry.

(It's to nerf me at FLGS by making me carry more weight when I'm on my way in. I have TWELVE frakking copies of Juke now.

Funny thing is, lots of people are calling for Juke to be nerfed to oblivion because of Muh-Phantoms and Muh-Defenders hurt me.... then we’ll have lots of copies to do absolutely nothing but carry about 😂

Juke isn't the problem with Phantoms, Phantoms are. Defenders are fine.

Juke OP calls will be back with a vengeance, though, as soon as the N1 drops...

2 Red, only marginally better with a focus + Juke than 3 red with focus from what I understand. N-1 has only 1 non-limited pilot which is I2. The I1 is a 2 pip. Like the defender it has to move fast to trigger its free evade and unlike the phantom it can't turn tight while doing it. I don't see being as much of an issue, if at all.

Yes, but Juke Torpedoes...

Those are rookie numbers! (I've given away about 20, and quite a lot of many other cards too. I've kept 6 copies of each, just in case.)

N-1s have torpedo slots?!?

(question from the obvious darkness)

Almost certainly, since it does come with some torpedo card, plus the Naboo fighters very explicitly used torpedoes in The Phantom Menace.

Just like x wings yes.

I've kept 9 of each upgrade, because that's one page in my card organising system. There's a LOT of full pages of upgrades in that folder...

Or the Autothrusters card pack, that came with a free Starviper.
