Resistance vs Rebellion

By RafaelNN, in X-Wing

Ive been playing with the empire a little (not as often as I like), but i gwt bored in any game with having only one faction, so I want to get a second one. Whats are the differences (in concept, playstyle, etc) between the rebellion and the resistance? Are they much different?

They do have similarities but between the two Resistance uses more high initiative Aces. Not to see that the Rebels don't have any but the Resistance has the likes of Poe, Lulo, Tallie, Nien, Ello, Rey and Han. The life of the Resistance is mostly T-70s and Rz-2s. Resistance has a lot of abilities that really make each ship shine.

Rebels have a wider range of ships atm and also can spread damage out letting them tank shots and supporting one another. Us, Xs, and Ys are solid ships to make a squad with, all fairly sturdy ships.

Overall if you already have Empire I think Rebels might be the way to go, as Resistance will likely feel a bit like Empire depending what you fly. Or if you do like Empire then maybe go with Resistance for something similar.

What Kira said.

Resistance is the Heavy Aces faction. Rebels is the Squad Support faction.

Rebels will feel more unique compared to Imperials.

The Resistance relies on aces, high-risk-high-reward. Very much so, it's the faction that rewards skillful flight and mechanic understanding the most. Which fits perfectly with their theme.

Thanks for the replies. I think rebels from what you guys say is better, since I want something different
