Gauging interest in a Northern Minneapolis Suburb W:I Tournament

By Wytefang, in Warhammer Invasion Community

Having had a lot of fun at the recent FFG LCG Regionals, despite a fairly small showing for it (Snif!), I'm considering organizing an impromptu tournament of my own for somewhere here in the Northern suburbs of the Twin Cities or somewhere central to the Twin Cities. There would be a small fee and prizes (mostly W:I cards or gift certificates from various online stores).

Please post here if you could or would be willing to attend such an event and what weekends in the next 2 months would work best for you. Thank you.

1. Wytefang ( Tony ) - Pretty much any weekend should be okay - chiefly Saturday mornings could work or even a Friday evening, possibly.

Hey Wytefang,

I'd be interested... but you already knew that (this is Rick). I'm sure Eric (that you met at the Event Center that Friday) would be up for it too.

Papa

Sweet. Can you give me some idea of weekends that might work for you guys in the next 3 months (May, June, and July)..heck even in August could work AFTER GenCon, of course. ;)

So potential roster:

1. Tony (Wytefang)

2. Rick

3. Eric

4. Konrad (Tony's friend)

5. Earl (Tony's friend)

6. ?

My brother and I are interested. We are usually available on Saturdays (any time) and Friday nights. I work one Saturday a month so as long as it's not then I can attend. My name is Zac and my brother is Alex.

Current potential attendance list for future tourney:

1. Tony (Wytefang)

2. Rick

3. Eric

4. Konrad (Tony's friend)

5. Earl (Tony's friend)

6. Zac

Right now the only weekend that is definitely out for me is the July 4th weekend. I'm a bit of a moving taget though, as I work in real estate and hence need to maintain a certain "flexibility" during the warm season. Hope to make it though.

Papa

Well I just worked my saturday for this month so the next 5 weekends are open for me. I'd love to get some real practice in as my brother and I are discussing Gen Con. If you can get something going soon let us know! No one showed up yesterday except us but we did get some games in with one of the developers of the game.

Sorry to have missed you guys. The extra $5 fee has been a bit of a deterrent for us coming up there lately but we try to come from time to time. I'll try to get a venue lined up soon - I've been waiting for a few more confirmed attendees but we probably have enough (at this point) to go forward.

- Tony (Wytefang)

I have a location but I need to know which dates could possibly work for everyone. Please post here to let me know. Cost can be anywhere between $5-10. :)

June 26th (sat) - starting at 10am

July 3rd (sat) - starting at 10am

July 10th (Sat) - starting at 10am

July 17th (Sat) - starting at 10am (BUT I may not be able to run the event this day as I might be out of town)

July 24th (sat) - starting at 10am

Location would be at Outpost 2000 in Northern Coon Rapids area (Foley Blvd and NW Blvd).

Every date except July 17th works for now. The only thing that would stop me is if I suddenly had to work someone's Saturday at my work but that hardly ever happens.

I'm definitely in! I don't have concrete plans out in July yet, but would be happy to commence with Warhammering! Long as we pick a weekend early enough I can schedule around it I believe.

Eric

Either July 10th or July 24th should be good for me.

Papa

Sorry for the long disappearance - we recently (2-3 weeks ago) moved and things have been hectic since then. They've finally settled down.

So what about a possible Sunday tournament - how might that work for everyone? I was thinking maybe July 18th starting around Noon so people could still catch their local church services if need be? Or what about Saturday the 31st?

Anyone home out here in MPLS land? Are people getting tired of this game already? Ugh...I hope not. :(

Just let me know when and where, I've got a pretty flexible schedule. I prefer FFG or Dreamers for locations, Outpost 2000 smells like undead B.O. and I don't seem to own a gas mask...

I'll check with FFG Event Center to see what it would cost for us to run a Pre-GenCon event. You guys going to GenCon, right? (I can't recall.)

Not any more. Have had no one to playtest for over a month now so made other plans. I would still go to a local tournament though so keep me posted.

Grevane - email me your contact info (phone or email basically or both) so we can get together this week at the FFG Event Center - I need someone worth their salt to test my decks against. My email is: Wytefang AT hotmail DOT com.

Thanks.
