I'm interested in if there will be droid medics or not. As you would want medics for those none droid units in CIS, but at same time, very odd to see B-1 droids being 'healed' up.

I think like Scouts they'd have white + low profile, maybe even cover 1 like the speeders to represent their agility (they were very dodgy if I remember correctly). Heavy weapon wise having a sniper is an obvious choice, but it'd be cool if their second was the vibrosword they're seen with sometimes as their second.

Maybe like a Geonosian mechanic or DUM-Series Pit Droid to "repair" Droid Trooper class similar to the medic, or just say their astromech equivalent can do vehicles and droid troopers leaving a normal medic for non-droids. It's certainly an interesting question what they'll do.

Honestly, I'd keep them at a white defense, but give them nimble, they carry the standard droid blasters, so white ranged, but they were deadly in close. I'd also give surge to defense AND attack, maybe even surge to crit.
there should be an upgrade that adds the melee weapon that we see the squad leaders have.
I’d also give them 2 health and 2 (maybe 3) morale.
Speed 3.
Forgot to add infiltrate

I think the vibrosword would either be a weapon option like the Death Trooper's E-11D Rifle or part of a Commando Droid Captain personnel upgrade.

I've posted elsewhere that there was a droideka sniper variant that would fill the sniper role. But, having a melee upgrade AND the mine laying trooper would work.

Found the Droideka you're talking about and I can certainly see it as a long range support sniper, but I can't see the CIS not getting a sniper team with Commando Droids.
Honestly either or, or both would be fine by me hahah.

I think the droideka variant is too big for the role of Separatist sniper, but it could be a long-range support option

If you don’t want someone to think you’re a duck, don’t quack.
Likely models: Super Battle Droids (special forces), Super commando droids (special forces), Dooku (commander), Maul (operative), Ventress (operative), Crab Droids (support), Tanks (heavy), Tactical droids (commander), STAPs (support)
Republic options are fairly obvious as well; ARC troopers (special forces), AT-RTs, Jedi...so many Jedi.

I think Super Battle Droids will be classed as corps units. If you look at all Clone Wars era material, they were deployed almost as much as regular B1 units. To reflect the fact that they were twice as expensive as B1s and were fielded in a ration of 1 B2 to 2 B1s, they will probably be twice the cost of regular clankers, have a base unit number of four figures, and have red dice for defense.

I like where you’re headed, probably have access to one of two upgrades: Rockets or mini guns, just as in the movies/Children’s cartoon/Battlefront games.

Captain James T. Kirk, Mr Spock, and Klingons would add great diversity and much needed symmetry to this game!!!
But all kidding aside I would love to see:
• BX-Series Droid Commando
• T-series tactical droid & Super Tactical Droid
• MagnaGuards
• IG Lancer Droid & IG-86 Sentinel Droid
• And most importantly for me a Boga with sound effects.

I'm thinking either the Tactical Droid or the Super Tactical Droid will be the generic Officer/Commander for the Separatist specialist pack. They'll definitely have MagnaGuards because they would have the same game role as the Royal Guards.

Why does the CIS sniper have to be the exact same unit model as rebel and imperial? Why not have the “sniper” be a different unit? I mean, they did exactly what we want a sniper to do, when they appeared in the show.

True, but in terms of gameplay, the droideka sniper would be easier to see on the battlefield and thus easier to eliminate. It would put the Separatist player at a serious disadvantage.

Except, if I recall, it still had shields. Easier to see and easier to destroy are different things.

Yeah, but the game mechanics for a sniper are simple: You hide. This doesn't allow your opponent to get a shot on you, which in turn allows you the freedom to do two actions every turn: Aim and Shoot. Being bigger may give you more damage points, but if you're taking hits you're also taking pins which can cripple a sniper's effectiveness.
Case in point.

Current snipers need to hide due to their frailty otherwise there's a real chance they'll be killed in one attack. If my understanding of the shield mechanic is correct, then it acts like a dodge. If the droideka has the same shield as the standard model, then it gets a limited amount of free "dodges" which would make it tougher than the normal sniper team. During the reveal, it sounded like the droideka would have a passive regen to the shield. If that's true, then you wouldn't need to hide at all since opposing long ranged attacks will potentially have difficulty knocking the droideka sniper out.

I think your “case in point” is showing very rigid thinking. You assume that ALL the factions have to be built the same way. Yes, the imperial and rebel snipers are near identical (very minor differences). The devs have said that the first two factions were designed to be very similar, but these two new ones have a few differences.
While yes, it would be easy to make the commando droids exactly as the rebel and imp commandos, they don't HAVE to be.
While we have gotten a sort of synergy with the rebel and imperial release, I think that will be different with the Republic and Seperatist armies.
The sniper droideka was shown in the shown to be in an elevated posistion in a building, so it got there somehow, I mean it's not like we have a vehicle with expert climber.
As to the shield vs morale, how much of a setback is the sniper droideka going to have if it doesn't take supression (hypothesizing that of course)? If the sniper droideka can take fire with it’s recharging shield, while the awful b1’s approach, it is worth it.
All in all, making commando droids just like the rebel commandos is not only lazy, but not thematic - they were brutal in close combat - the squad leader even carries a vibro blade. Why not hit both gameplay mechanics AND thematics? Just because we have recieves the symmetry so far, I do not expect it for the clone wars era.

If they did it in the actual show, it's thematic.
There's nothing stopping FFG giving them the Vibroblade as their melee weapon on the base unit card either.
