Maybe on the Wookies, as I posted elsewhere, it was said they weren't really looking at doing too many cross faction units at this time, but we might see a different version of the Wookies using mostly ranged weapons.

The other factions could be Shadow Collective/Crime lords, First Order, Resistance, that sort of thing.

All this talk of other factions/species and the original army to fight the droids hasn't been mentioned? The Gungans (minus that putz Jar-Jar)?

I know, that is just my wishful thinking. What is his ability? Roll a blank on offensive die and randomly select 2 opposing units at range 1-2 to take 2 damage.

Omg yeah, I have to admit I totally forgot the Gungan, because of my hate of Jarjar actually.

I haven't been this excited about Legion since my first game. I love the Clone Wars, and find it to be the single most interesting conflict in SW. Can't wait to see what they do with it, and just hope they don't make the little mistakes I can see them doing (ARCs as SF for one) I wish Clones had surge to hit, but I can understand not wanting to give it to them. Oh well. I'm super digging that they released the clones as "Phase I troopers" so we can differentiate between the two. I love that for the Clone Troopers, FFG basically took the most popular Corps heavy weapons (DLT-19 and Z-6) and just gave them to the Clones (as the DC-15 and Z-6). I guess time will tell on which ends up being stapled on. August can't come soon enough!

I'd personally love to see a Gungan army, or at least Gungan troops for the Republic. Besides the wonderful trolling factor, Gungans would be interesting units. Primarily melee, with boomas for ranged attacks, shields/deflect being a key part of their stick. Not something I expect soon, but eventually it would be great.

And to the prequel haters, shove off. You've said your piece, now leave the rest of us alone. I throw up a little every time I see Sequel trilogy stuff being discussed but generally try to leave those threads alone after my first comment or two. Please give us the same courtesy.

They could also be lumped into the Republic as they do fight alongside the Clones during the Battle of Mon Cala. I'd almost prefer the Twi-lek cavalry for Creature Troopers, but Gungan cavalry is also possible.

I worry more about the DC-15 only getting one crit conversion with Critical 1 instead of contributing generic Impact to all dice in pool. Though this might just encourage more spliting fire.

So, an AT-TE is (according to star wars databank) 22.02 meters long (72.24 feet) long

A Blackhawk helicopter is 66 feet long.

Now, watch any scene where and LAAT/i is carrying people and tell me that the part between the cockpit and the tail gun is bigger than an entire Blackhawk helicopter.

For more visual comparison. Average adult male shoulder width is 16.1 inches. That would mean that about 50 people could stand shoulder to shoulder in the passenger compartment of an LAAT/i....if they are all the same size and all have to be able to transport an AT-TE

Thus far, it seems like almost every unit has an obligatory heavy weapon option, and one that rarely if ever gets used. The Clones may be the first one where that's not the case. (SF units notwithstanding)

Which is good, because so far we have had folks pick a single heavy per unit type as the go-to. Now it’s more free form based on what you’re trying to do.

I thought maybe they'd do something like put a second character in the starter for both sides, and have three or four additional unit/vehicle offerings per army available within a month of launch. Things to help frontload sales while the hype is strongest.

We will probably have more articles with additional announcements coming.

I highly doubt this is “it” for the legion Clone Wars drop.

Logistics can only handle a certain throughput of miniatures at a time, and it's possible that any logistic allocated to Legion takes away from the board games. As for why keep the same format of the Core set, adding more characters changes the savings of the core set and since both core sets will be available at the same time can hurt sales of one or the other.

I would think that might alienate the current fans, gettting more in the base box! As it is, the two starter boxes are the same so anyone can enter anywhere.

I expect there will be a faster release of the support troops for Clone Wars to help them catch up faster, but who knows. They also don’t want to flood the market too fast!

I think we will definitely have at least 1 vehicule / 1 more character / 1 more trooper unit and 1 specialist unit before the end of the year, just after the drop of the core box.

As the Phase I Clones are classified as "Clone Troopers" rather than "Troopers", they can spend friendly "Clone Troopers" green tokens at range 1.

I have to agree. FFG doesn't have a typical release schedule. What has been normal for this game isn't really normal for other games. We are used to FFG's release schedule, though, so our expectations are different.

I also think that Legion players have a different expectation simply because of the Star Wars IP. There is very much a "I want them all" mentality that doesn't exist in other games simply because it is Star Wars. Many (myself included) are playing and purchasing all the factions because we love anything and everything Star Wars. When I've played other miniature games, I focused on one faction and then only on units that fit my army. For Legion, I want it all regardless of how much I will play a unit. It is going to be difficult for me to cut back on some of the releases since for the past year I've been able to just get everything. There will be no skimping on the Republic, though. (I had planned on passing on Separatists, but that's what my son wants to play.)

As for the LAAT conversation, I want one. I'm not a big fan of the prequel films, but I have always loved the aesthetics of the Republic army. The LAAT is my favorite vehicle in all of Star Wars. One way or another, I hope we get one, even if the scale has to be fudged to make it work.
