‘Leaked’ Poster

Those are actual images. Of the actors. In their exact costumes And the character designs. Months before they were publicly available. I'm not sure what part of this you are struggling with. This might not be an officially released poster but those images have to have come from within Lucasfilm. Hence leaked, not faked. Its not complicated.

Hot Toys in China, already have their EP9 toys ready to go. They are given a lot of assets to make those toys. I am not saying that is the source of those images but many manufactures are given those kinds of assets. So no, those types of images don't have to come from within Lucasfilm directly. I don't disagree the images photoshoped together broke an NDA, however that doesn't mean the poster was ever created by the direction of lucas film. Given the obvious photoshopping of the poster, it's clearly a fake, no matter where the source material game from. You are right, it's not complicated. A fake is a fake.

When you say poster, do you mean movie poster? I don't think it's a one-sheet that you will see in the theater, but rather artwork used for merchandising. It probably artwork for the displays, packaging or maybe even posters to that you buy in Walmart for $5, but definitely not a movie poster.

I wouldn't call it fake though, it's probably official, but only for merchandising

Once again, fake and leak are not synonyms.

You were wrong on the internet dude, the way to save face isn't to keep digging a hole by insisting you were right in the face of reality.

Yeah, it is a fake poster which used leaked images. Sorry, still makes it fake. Who really cares if the guy who made it got a hold of some images. It's not a real poster, hence fake and fake is fake.

That they are @Iceeagle85

@Mep I can assure you it is not a fake. I have one and gave out others.

It’s a promotional and marketing poster for licensors, retailers and distributors.

I worked on some branding for Galaxy’s Edge.

Not for the general public. Still real.

Well it is good for a fake, it is sad for a legit poster. If they are handing them out to people though, it's not exactly leaked now is it. Hopefully the actual movie poster is far better, not there haven't been bad movie posters in the past.

Beware of sliding baselines. Considering the tighter timeline to get this out fast to vendors, it's still better than older movie posters from my lifetime.

I like Rose the most of the new heroes, despite my view that she perpetrated the corniest scene in the movie. On re-watching the movie I figured out that it's because I feel like she most resonates with "what is Star Wars". Strongly established character motivation, developing a character through actions, and (in her case very oblique, via Paige's only scene) homage to film classics. When Rose shoots her own hero and throws him in jail, we find out a ton about that character. Her sister's death was her motivation of course, but it also visually smacked of WWII movies, Alien, 2001, The Empire Strikes Back and Dr. Stangelove.

I always used to say "If you want to see how to develop a character through actions, watch A New Hope*. If you want to see how to develop a character through dialogue, watch The Lion in Winter." Luckily Rogue One also got back to that very firm development through action again.

*Actually I said Star Wars. We still weren't calling it A New Hope back then (and you probably weren't either) unless it was to answer a trivia question. Though that was when pressed to name an English language film. The best way to learn about character development through action, I firmly believe, is to watch subtitled foreign films. When you rob the dialogue of some subtlety, the actions can seen more clearly. Like photocopying a painting in black and white, so you can discern changes in value without being distracted by false presumptions driven by perceptions of color.

@TauntaunScout I LOVE A Lion in Winter, the wit of the dialogue is as sharp as a Sith Lightsaber.

I put it in the same high esteem I hold The Bridge Over the River Kwai, and A Bridge Too Far, and the best bits of Zulu.

Jokes on you I only count 11 Roses!

Is it really bad that that knights of ren poster and the visual dictionary cover just conjure visions of a Monty python movie with sci fi weapons........

Kylo Ren isn’t an alien. That’s Adam Driver’s real face.

Ah yes. I remember going to see TFA on opening night in my hometown and when Kylo removed his mask for the first time the audience gasped and the middle aged woman behind me whispered "My god, he's beautiful..."
