I’ve really been impressed by the precise hunter. The Haor Chall prototypes are great when they don’t just get initiative-killed right away.
Anyone had any luck with the other pilots?

DFS-311. Very versatile ability that can be used in any Separatist squad. Great for squads with either K2B4, Sear, or really can have use anywhere. What can be hilarious is to give him grappling struts and just put it on a rock/debris just to stay there and generate a calc to pass. Hence why in a few groups online, he's been called Butter...(Rick & Morty reference)
Separatist Droid is my favorite. It is priced affordably and I3.
Trade Fed Drones and Separtist Drones have been my jam, both with Energy Shell Charges. I just want a lot of them on the board.
I throw a mix of DFS-311 and Separatists (Drones) into everything so far. The price is right. Wrecked a quad ARC list last night with my "just throw all the ship types" list and that has me questioning whether or not it's better than it looks.
Edited by LagJansonTrade Fed Drones are great, Butterbot (DFS-311) is pretty good, Separatist Drones are alright.
Haor Challs are overcosted, Precise Hunters are extremely overcosted, and DFS-081 seems like a joke.
While we're at it, Grappling Struts and Discord Missiles are also overcosted, but still kind of fun and neat. Discords might be priced correctly for when we can put them on Hyenas, but until June or whatever we can't. I don't think any upgrade other than Energy Shells is worthwhile on a Vulture right now.
I will, however, commend Afterburners Vultures as absolutely terrible but extremely dank.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "better than it looks". Separatist Drones with ECS were what I looked at first thing as being really good. I have had good experiences with the couple of games I have tried so far, but need to learn to fly better.

I haven't tried Discord Missiles yet because I worry they will just get Focus fired down. I am loving ECS, though.
I have tried the Grapplers, but just didn't really consider them when using them. I need to unlearn avoiding asteroids and figure out strategies and tactics that take advantage of them. I thought about removing the Grapplers, but it only gives me 18 pts, which is not enough to do anything with.
I have thought about Homing Missiles on Droids, though. They can knock a Jedi down pretty fast!

I meant this:
This list should be terrible, I think. I just put a bunch of ships on the table to experiment with. The game tilted so hard I am re-evaluating. It shouldn't be a good list. I put the Infiltrator into his formation as a big blocking mass (that was cloaked) and just jammed him up while the Vultures blasted away and Greivous pounced from the side. I had killed an ARC and half-pointed two more for the loss of "Ol' Butterbot" and a couple of plinks of damage.
Separatists with ECS will probably be the backbone of good Separatist lists. They're fun and potent.

Absolutely agree here. Was just listening to Scum & V, and their verdict was that it wasn't worth it. For the points of giving them all ECS, you can get another ship, it was too expensive, and you only get to fire once. I disagree with all of it. I think it's better to have 7 ships that can fire 3 dice than 8 than can only fire 2. I found I reloaded quite often. It wasn't too expensive.
It seems really derpy, but a lot of meta lists are vulnerable to an I3 alpha, so, Seperatists with energy shells get my vote.
Single Trade Fed as a blocker. DFS as a blocker/Calc Factory. Can then fit 6 Separatists with Energy Shells at a cool 200 points. Seems like a decent ocho to me.
Went 3/0 at a recent tournament with 8 Trade Federation Drones + Energy Cell Charges
I tend to be of a mind that anything more that 20 points before upgrades for a 3-health 2-defense body is not a good use of points.

Why not 4 Separatist Drones and 4 Trade Fed Drones? You've got the points.

Because when flying an 8-ship swarm it is better to be able to choose the order in which you move all your ships.
Moving 4, then moving another 4 can (and often does) create problems.
Also, a huge amount of swarm piloting is blocking. I ALWAYS want to move first and shoot first.
Lastly, I'm still assessing whether an 8-point bid is more or less valuable than Munitions Failsafe or a shield upgrade on my point-man (corner drone closest to the enemy).
I definitely considered 4 Separatist Drones, but they are the bottom of a list of what to do with those spare points.

I found the I3 droids shot before a good number of enemy.

Yeah...... 'bout that.

Those are solid points. It's definitely a meta call.
I'm also tempting to cram -311 in there, since passing a calc to where it needs to be is pretty clutch.
How'd you deploy/fly it, and what'd you face?

I always deployed in my right corner in two rows of 4 facing forward.
I faced Darth Maul with Hate + Grevious with some upgrades + 4 vultures.
I destroyed Darth Maul on the first round of shooting (8 3-dice shots against Darth Maul with Hate have about an 80% chance of taking him down, which drops to 60% with 7 ships). From there is wasn’t difficult to pick the rest apart.
I then faced 2 ARCs and 2 V-19s with various upgrades/Proton Torpedoes/Missiles. Shooting round 1 went poorly for me, and I lost 2 ships before I was able to fire back. On the second round of shooting I was able to drop an ARC that I damaged on the previous round. I will say that I would have lost this match until my opponent maneuvered his remaining ARC in a position facing off the board, requiring a hard 2 or hard 3 to maneuver back on to the board. A maneuver + barrel roll put one of my vultures in a position that prevented the completion of the ARC maneuver, and he lost the ship. It was a cheap move, and I felt bad about it, but it was a tournament. After that, V-19s stood no chance.
I then faced an interesting rebel list with Wedge, Corran, Z-wing, and an ARC. Z-wing and ARC dies quickly to my alpha strike. I brought down Wedge by turning my swarm into him at an unexpected time for my opponent. I brought down Corran with some blocking that forced him into a bump + stress. Once I had one turn behind him, he had no chance – though that last round did have some good rolling by me and bad rolling by my opponent.

Corran. Thank you. I was just on Bell of Lost Souls reading about another character of the cob-pipe persuasion.

Yeah I need to finish doing my homework on this one. @Starslinger72 certainly didn't think they were worth it, but I would have to re-listen to see what exactly I said about it , I have already forgotten! I might come up with a slightly different answer in a week when I have the time to look at it closer.
My initial reaction was to just plop 8 of those droids down on the table, all with charges, and see how it goes. Seems strong on the initial approach if you can get all 8 in range, then 6 should get to fire, so that's 18 red dice on the initial joust. It's the follow-up I am more worried about, as the ones with the best possible shots the following round will get popped before they can shoot, and it could snowball very quickly against them.

Yeah, I forget what I say on my podcast all the time.
I found I really like six ships with ESC at I3 and at least another I1. I played a few games last week and it did well. The first two rounds cause a lot of damage, but then they start to whittle down your ships. Some games closer than others, but one game had me firing before his ships and it was brutal.
Thinking of going with six at I3 with ESC, then the I1 named guy mixed with I1 Trade droid. Also need to play more with Buzz Droids and Grapplers.

I bought 2 Servants of Strife and 3 blisters, though I think I'll get another blister tomorrow. I saved since Xmas for this and haven't bought anything since then.
