As in, they specifically?

Or FFG as a whole , now ?

I meant the developers that were presenting the FFG panel. They are only involved in Armada, X-Wing and Legion.

Well, the fact that you asked the question at the seminar should help make FFG aware that people do want to know what's going on with IA - you did your part, @bokepasa :)

It's from the Heart of the Empire mission card "Capital Escape".

I am for nerfing as well. I don't like that a skirmish game, which used to take around 5 rounds to play, now can be finished at the end of 2 or the beginning of 3. With nerfed figures, games would last longer, and I know that's not necessarily desirable to tournament-goers as there's a time limit, but longer games are generally more fun IMO.

This is another main difference, when I play in casual settings I always just inform my players that the game ends when one of us has gained 40VP or all figures are destroyed that pretty much never happens due to objectives , I also tell them this part so they know skirmish is usually never a "kill all figures" deathmatch

"The game will also end in roughly ~1h even if we don't finish" isn't part of the equation. For introducing new players I ask them to budget 2h (includes learning the rules) and for experienced players I ask them to budget ~1.5h. I've noticed most of the games tend to run to round ~4 if the time limit restriction is removed (just play IA as it is, ignore the 1h time limit), and up to round 5/6 if we also remove figures that can easily do ~6+ damage in one shot

This means that even if we're playing with all the figures and nothing is banned, figures like Thrawn or Palpatine is even more threatening in a casual setting than a competitive tournament setting simply because there's a higher chance of them being useful/get to do something round after round

Especially Thrawn with his round # multiplyer ability.

When I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever told any casual players that the game ends with a time limit. I’ve rarely ever played past round 4.

Just wanted to let everyone know what I found while reading some news articles on the FFG newspage. In one of their recent articles found here , which is about the new hyperspace gamemode for X-Wing, they link another article , from when they first announced the new gamemode. This was in January. I read throigh it and found this section really interesting.

I just though this was interesting and that FFG knows we don't like stale metas. Remeber, rebellions are built on hope.

I'd prefer some edits to the available products. To keep adding more plastic for the sake of shaking up the Meta bugs me. It makes me hate the skirmish side of the game. Stale meta is a way of saying, "we know there enough customers who will buy whatever we put out so long as it is new, that we never have to worry about making the pieces that are available, viable." I'd like to know why Boba hasn't been fixed yet? It never leads to where they say it will lead. They just keep infusing units, like in X-wing, until its broken, and then they release a new version to get you to rebuy the game.

Yup. I like new plastic but I'd MUCH rather have some fixes (both nerfs and buffs). Do it, FFG. Give us 6 or 7 or seven fix cars. So easy to do. If you want to do new figures do Jyn and Krennic and whatever else cool stuff Legion has for new deployment cards and we'll just by the Legion figures and use the cards and fixes pack you give us. So easy to do.

It's becoming harder and harder to not give up hope. I'll play this game until the official end and then long after it. But to think it's in a good place is a bit delusional. Zero announcement at yet another big Con? Why even bother holding a Worlds if they're not going to really promote it? They have not felt it good to errata a clearly broken card which shows more apathy on their part. #sad
