thoughts?

Same sort of list i was going to try out! But with one medic embedded in a stormtrooper squad. The medic squad has to stay close to the Deathtrooper squads to help with any stray casualty that may turn up.

edit. just saw you had a medic as well

I've played against a similar thing on Tabletop Simulator except I think he had a unit of Snowtroopers instead of the med droid Stormtroopers. It's pretty rough. I didn't get blown out but it was a definite loss.

nice one. still to answer whether annihilation looms might be better than coordinated fire. imperial discipline is a must have i think on deathtroopers

Why Covert Observation instead of Maximum Firepower?

I agree with your thoughts on Imperial Discipline. Need to give them recover so they can get blast. I like coordinated fire EARLY to allow me to move the stormies into very good positions, and still attack and aim. I am not a huge fan of Annihilation Looms as it is in the last round, and I don't want to have to save it that long. It also forces me to keep Krennic on the battlefield and give him a token that should go to a trooper instead.

As more and more Command cards are in the game, Covert Observation will allow me to quickly assess all of my opponents command options. I am less of a fan of pushing commander only command cards as your troops are the ones who make the moves. It is a good way to get damage early, but it just doesn't hold up especially with pathfinders and jyn who already deploy to close to use it.

All? Only 2 random ones, one of which may end up being Standing Orders.

depends on when i use it I guess. but it can help me with a multiple commander list. idk maybe maximum firepower would be better. ill try them both out. it also lets me activate a deathtrooper which is nice bc i can remove a suppression token and have a powerful activation

i can never see a point when Covert Ops will be a good 1 pip card

This looks really good, I was working on something similar myself. I don’t know if annihilation looms will be a good card or not, but coordinated fire looks like it could really be abused in this list!

It isn’t that it is a bad card. Is it better than ambush? Yes. Is it better than Maximum Firepower? Undetermined. Instead of just writing off a card, you have to play it and work out it’s strengths, like the fact that I can assign both of my deathtroopers order tokens.

How is Covert ops better than Ambush, Ambush lets you give an order to any type of unit, CO lets you give one to a Special Forces or Operative which is extremely limiting and then you get to look at 2 Random cards.

I have 4 special forces... it isn’t that limiting in this list...?

So have you played with Death Troopers yet? How are they? I am getting them on the table today.

Haven’t yet! I can’t wait! I have been busy with 70 hours of work and school... maybe in two weeks when I have a sec.

The dlt upgrade while pricey is awesome. My opponent took 2 units of them. I took the leader version and that was good too. I used them to hold an objective so I was able to actually recover and shoot at range 4. He was playing Krennic. Don't know how I feel about him. Doesn't seem like he does much for your army. Having Veers will definitely make things better.

Krennic gives me compel, command cards, and an extra unit of Snipers. He also gives deathtroopers an order token every turn, which is extremely powerful (going off of how powerful palp+guards is)

YES. I love Shoretroopers. Even just like normal squads. An improvement on my other list? Yes. I think so. I REALLY need to finish my scarif map before these guys come out. HYPE HYPE HYPE.

Commanders:

- General Veers (80) = 80

- Director Orson Krennic (90) = 90

Corps:

- 3x Shoretroopers (52) + Shoretrooper (13) + Targeting Scopes (6) = 213

- 2x Stormtroopers (44) + DLT-19 Stormtrooper (24) = 136

- Stormtroopers (44) = 44

Special Forces:

- 2x Imperial Death Troopers (76) + DLT-19D (34) + E-11D Grenade Launcher Config (8) = 236

Total: 799/800

I ran a great Mechanized Infantry list with Veers

3x Storm (naked objective grabber/fodder)

3x Death Troopers, 2 DLT, 1 DT-F16 (A#1 Killers)

1 ATST w light blaster and grenades (Fire support tank)

I went up against a infantry heavy Imperial scout list with Fett, speeders and snipers. Veers used maximum firepower to kill the sniper team in the PERFECT tower position. ATST took ineffective fire while DTs used range 4 attacks with Veer's free aims to establish the key positions as kill zones. Took down Fett in one turn with coordinated fire and then advanced on defended positions with rifle grenades. Textbook operation.
