Those templates look better in white than transparent.

Hey, @Tlfj200, you don't need to worry about getting that World ticket so much now!

Why?

because extended is messy and has far too many things to juggle, whereas hyperspace is more easily controlled and able to be balanced.

the meta is also more defined, as there are more hyperspace events than extended now.

Fair enough. It's just that a while back, people were screaming about how Extended was just a money-grab, because it was going to have no official OP support and thus was a dead format; so suddenly seeing people upset that there are Extended events seems rather odd. Can't please everyone all the time, I guess.

BINGO!!! What a perfect reason to change.

The game is fresh when the meta is ill-defined.

The point of all of this is to keep players OFF THEIR GAME, so that the game as a whole does not become staid.

I think this is an interesting point, about a more defined meta.

Granted, we will have at least 1 more Wave drop before Worlds, if not two Waves, so the changes to the Hyperspace format could change drastically in the next 6 months.

I'd point out that regardless of which format people prefer, the fact remains that FFG seems willing (at least for now) to support multiple formats, which may be good news for fans of other, future formats.

2020 world championship is going to be Heroes of the Aturi Cluster.

You want it. I want it. Everyone wants it.

They're supporting multiple formats across an entire year sure, but wouldn't you then expect Worlds to host both Hyperspace and Extended? Especially since XWing worlds only has to share space with Destiny in the same overall event time/space.

As much as I actually wanted worlds to be hyperspace, I’m not that bothered or surprised it’s extended, and there is one more points update before hand and some new releases, following a season full of hyperspace, it may be an interesting change of pace

I'd care to reply to your opinion if you converted to 2e.

Having seen the prize kit, the range rulers, templates and tokens were not on a white background... they were on clear acrylic. Makes it REALLY hard to see the focus tokens on the table.

Also, the paint job on the templates and range rulers was sub-par at best. With a little help, they could look ok, but as is, they are pretty meh.

Seeing as how there will be at least 20 more ships in the game a year from now, the reality is this will be the last Extended World's. Might as well go out with a bang.

Book it, Lobot.

Will my receipt for Wave III be enough, or do I need a photo of me playing 2.0 to become a Full-Fledged X-Wing Citizen in your eyes?

Worlds in Nov or Dec? I forget. We've got 2-3 more Waves and a points change worth of meta shake up till then if FFG maintains the current pattern of releases.

Receipts, pictures, sworn statements of eye witnesses, DNA sampling, a letter from your fifth grade math teacher to verify your identity, and a video of you enjoy the game.

Until then... we'll have to hold these children in a detention center.

As an extra bonus, these showed up, too!!

Lastly, I'll be going to Adepticon on Thursday, to score some of those "Who Cares It's Just a Dumb Paint Job"(TM} Vultures.

Maybe I can bring a list and let one of you X-Wing heartthrobs take my 2.0 virginity.

Hey, if you want to keep a bunch of younglings in a small room with you, better you than me, I'd say.

Nice. Dabbling in 2.0 Scum too or picked up the Z-95-AF4s for more variety in your campaign?

Just for the repaint. I'll be using them in 1.0 games at this point.

I remain a non-converter. Rebels, Empire, and (for now} Scum are 1.0 factions. I can happily play 1.0 forever.

So, with the $150+ I saved in duplicate cardboard, I can buy Republic and CiS and start fresh.

At some point I will likely convert Resistance, and possibly FO.* Then, those factions I can still play as 1.0 subfactions, or play them as all-new 2.0 stand-alone factions for a mere $25 each.

*Traditionally, at the kitchen table I'm Empire and my bro is Rebels. So, we'll flip-flop for Resistance and FO 2.0.
