Is there going to be a Epic Westeros? Give me a reason to buy two of these and play Epic!
Battles of Westeros Epic
Epic? I would like to see the what families they plan on adding as expansions before that, however if someone does have the epic info i would like to know as well.
One of the first articles (the one about terrain) mentions that you can place boards next to eachother for a bigger game so I think the option is there already.
From the interview on the 17. 03.10:
"The second set up of the board is a standard horizontal configuration placed between the two players. When in this configuration, it is important to note that additional boards can be placed adjacent to the initial board to expand the battlefield and accommodate larger armies."
I think, the answer to your question could be "YES!"
.-)
After exmining the contents of the box and reading the rules there is nothing to prevent anyone from doing that now other than there are no official "epic" scenerios or guidlines at the moment.
Is "Epic" 4 player or just larger armies? If there ever are 4 player rules I would grab two copies of the core in a heart beat. My group of friends who play strategy games almost exclusively play 4 player games.

Random skirmish rules x2?
Its playable multiplayer (4) now in any scenario or skirmish where you have 2 commanders and 4 CPs and 4 leadership cards. You don't need 2 boards next to each other although if you wanna come up with a 2 board many unit battle that would be doable for sure.
On one board we try 2 players per side, 2 CPs and 2 ACs each. Same house commanders can swap 1 AC each when drawn.
Just zigzag the command turns across the table. This should cut down paranalysis. Maybe use a 1 minute egg timer (android has an app) to initiate turn orders and simulate battle timing tension (a la spacehulk!).
Other battles are also multi-playable, you just have to be flexible between commanders.
Having said all that I'm also confident there will be an official epic version sometime given the comments above and the facts that FFG knows it will earn $$$!
For multi-player we just give each player one leader and have them create a command deck with that leaders cards plus a proportion of the genric house command cards. Individual command die are allocated in the same manner.
We allow all players one one side to issue one order (card or individual color) to speed play and avoid having players sit around doing nothing. It makes more units active but so far this hasn't created any huge distortions in play and tends to speed the game up.
