As somebody who has flown a striker off the map turn one at a major event.... No. Just, no. There is no need to make such a rule to catch my own foolish mistake. I also wouldn't let my opponent allow me a chance to reverse the dial.
Let's fix turn one.

How's that even possible, by the way?

First four rounds I had a set starting movements but I didn't like it vs my round five opponent so I changed up my dials... And promptly forgot when I did my advanced ailerons.

The trick is to orient yourself or the maneuver so that it faces the same way as what you're trying to dial in. In the case of a ship starting 90 degrees turned, just rotate your dial so that the selector arrow is on the right or left (whichever side is the front of the ship), and set your dial that way.
I do this all the time with X-Wing.
Pffft, real pros deploy with a ship facing backwards (silly Scyk ship model). No dial setting helps then !

I've seen this done with U-wings... Worked out for them, so I'm sure those super maneuverable Scyk's can do better... right?

Narrator voice: "They didn't"
Won't anyone think of poor Moralo?
Or just...double check your dials...
