Collision Detector

By Dolsha, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hello!
Help me with "Collision Detector".

Does it work like "Qi'ra" in terms of attack and defense?
Answer for "Qi'ra": https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/277390-x-wing-official-rulings/?tab=comments#comment-3491330

Thx!

Collision Detector ignores the obstacle for the rest of the round so it will not obstruct your attacks, not make you roll for damage (Asteroid or Debris), not make you lose your action (Asteroid or Gas), not give you a stress (Debris), and you can even attack when you are sitting on top of it (Asteroid).

So almost like Qi'ra except that you can absolutely, unequivocally, and without question can attack while you are overlapping it.

you also don't gain strain from gas clouds and gas clouds do not give you opponent the benefit of turning a result into an evade when you fire through them.

obstacles still give you an extra die and gas clouds still give you the opportunity to turn a result into an evade when ships fire through them at you, though, since they're making the attack and they don't ignore the effects of obstacles.

Gas clouds don't give strain anyway, no?

Thx all for answers!

It might have come from speculation (strain was one of the new mechanics of the wave), since it'd be pretty silly of FFG to make an obstacle with no penalty for hitting it. :P Anyhow, it'd kind of make sense, since it provides a defensive bonus for shooting through it, and Strain would be a defensive penalty. Frankly, I think it would have been a lot better than the direction they went with.

However, I'm veering off topic for a rules thread, so Fig Out.
