Are you buying republic, separatists or neither?

Republic for me, but I also bought an infiltrator because I love the ship, and now I’m thinking that after I get a second republic squadron box and another Arc or 3, I may have to buy into the CIS also.

Wise indeed. I know i have plenty of rebel and scum ships to tide me over. seems quite wasteful to just keep buying and buying new stuff when u have lots that ur not playing with.

In time i expect some of the force upgrades to become easy to pick up from ppl who have multiples.

Yup. There are ships in my collection I still haven’t used since 2.0 was released.

I am hoping some goodies make their way into rereleases in faction for stuff I have. Or maybe I can ultimately pick things up secondhand like the gas clouds.

That said..... my itch to buy something still hit. I bought some resistance stuff when I said I wasn’t. But, I also like Aces, and they have lots of that.

I converted the other factions entirely.

I wonder if people actually have a long term plan for developing their fleets.

1.0 taught us not to just keep buying everything. those ppl got burned when 2.0 hit.

If u started playing towards the end of 1.0 you probably didnt have too many ships yet. Those ppl who just started playing when 2.0 dropped are ok but might be repeating the same mistakes that 'we' made.

Financially it makes sense to stick to a small number of factions. With 7 factions available. Depends on ur budget and how much you play. Hard to justify spending massive amounts when ur not playing that often. Depends on the local scene near you. Everyone has their own formula.

Yep.... I was playing long enough that I bought all the things in 1.0. I was burned hard. The only expansion I never bought was the resistance bomber.

In 2.0, I got by to some degree converting the stuff (original 3 plus FO, trading away t70s from 1.0 for more FO stuff).

Because I already have all the stuff for my factions wave 3 and 4, I may keep up this experiment with a resistance transport but that’s about it.

I did Republic. Got my pre-order of 2 squad packs, an ARC, and a Delta 7. I already do Resistance and Rebels so luckily I have two Rebel ARC's already. I'm liking the look of the clones a lot right now. Throw a Jedi in to support them and you have a pretty mean squad.

None for the moment. I only play xwing once a week when other games systems are not dragging me away. I have plenty empire and rebs already plus I'm tempted just to sell off my FO.

Anyways at the moment both of the new factions look interesting but too small in terms of variety for me to be interested. Also there are things in both factions that I don't like. V19 torrents look awful for example... Another thing is the cost. I recon it would cost me about £80 or so to get one of the new factions.. the new pricing model does rub me the wrong way too.... Getting a bit greedy there ffg!

In time I may go for the Republic one the points have settled as I can see there is significant power creep. Compare a generic tie interceptor for 40 points and see what awesomeness you can get with the new guys...

Bought Republic. Jedi look like fun.

General Grievous also looks like fun, but I'm not into the rest of what Separatists have, and there's so much stuff in the old factions I want to fly that I never get around to flying. I'm going to try to hold out as long as I can before getting into them.

Neither.

How so? I had one of pretty much every 1.0 product (except the Raider corvette), and felt that my collection fit rather well with the Conversion Kits.

Neither. I planned on getting republic but when I got to the store today I saw the models and was reminded how much I hate the prequel movies and couldn’t bring myself to buy them.

I hated the prequels too, but since I really just hated the acting, plot, and dialogue, I can still enjoy flying the ships!

EDIT: To answer the initial question, I'm flying both!

Roger roger!

Roger, roger!

1x Servants of Strife

2x Vulture blisters

1x Infiltrator.

Another SoS on order. I will likely get a third somewhen because 7-8 vultures can be a thing.

I am doing the same as Lord Vorken.

1 x SOS,

2 x Vulture Expansion

1 x Sith Infiltrator.

Im selling all my Rebels and focussing on Resistance and CIS.

This depends on how many conversion kits you needed to buy and whether you wanted to keep playing the faction(s) u had ships for. i was heavily into scum but stopped buying after the shadowcaster. There will be many players here who madeit over to 2.0 without too much further investment other than one of each conversion kit bu i suspect others who just got out of the game altogether. iv got 3 epic ships ive never played. really just bought them for the cards. now theyre not worth much to anyone. iv also got a number of 1.0 alt art pilot cards... Luke, Wedge, Chewie, Boba... also worthless. For this reason im not that excited to collect 2.0 alt art pilot cards. lesson learned.

as for further investment to play 2.0 iv gotten away with scum and 1/2 rebel kit plus 2x saws renegade expansion. my galactic empire ships are collection dust for now, im making do with what I have. havent bought any wave3 at all.

your wallet will thank you. im also not a fan of the clone wars era films. the cartoon series was pretty cool tho.

ffg have a long term plan for expanding this game. 7 factions is hard to keep pace with. Hyperspace and Extended keeps you guessing what ships will rotate in and out. feelsa bit like russian roulette.

im staying with scum and rebels.

im sitting at the top of the Rabbit Hole like many of us wondering where FFG are leading us. i thought it get suckered into buying a few jedi aethersprites. i didnt. my wallet will thank me for that.

At first I will only get Republic, but I think in time I will also get the separatists.

Sadly the store were I want to buy the Republic stuff doesn't have them in stock yet otherwise would already have them.

For now plan to buy 1x Gaurdians of the republic, 1x Aethersprite and 2x Arc-170

both. Got one of each for the Republic stuff. One of each for the CIS stuff except vulture droids. getting 3 single pack vultures. 4 if I can get my hands on the adepticon one.

For me it was originally neither. Then I saw the stream a few weeks ago and I preordered separatists - SoS, a vulture, and an infiltrator. Then I preordered Republic last week - GoR, ARC-170, Aethersprite, and another vulture. Then I flew against a Separatists swarm list yesterday in a tournament and bought a second SoS.

Edit: So I went from not caring about either faction a few weeks ago to now having purchased 3 squadron packs, 3 single small ship packs, a medium ship pack, and a large ship pack. FFG got me good with this wave.

Neither. The aesthetics of the prequel era ships don't appeal to me outside of the ARC-170 (I'd rather fly Rebels for access to that), and my wallet can no longer accomodate a slew of new purchases when the ship prices have increased the way they have.
I also don't feel like adding two more factions was a great idea from a balance perspective, but that's a seperate issue really.

Neither for me. Means for the first time since Wave 4 (Phantom), I can not buy at LEAST one of each ship. New Wave 3 has nothing for me, and Wave 4 I'm only grabbing the Resistance Transport.

It's a nice break for the wallet, and for finding space to store things. Plus, I've still not actually grabbed the Resistance conversion kit lol So that will be my next purchase for the game.

Neither. Five factions is (waaaay more than) enough for me to play.

Now that I have 6 Vultures... I just need a pair of Adepticon Vultures, another GotR, and probably another Republic ARC. Another Aethersprite would be nice to be able to run 4x lists, but that's probably my lowest priority right now.

I'm still new to the game, and am mostly interested in OT factions (Imperial in particular) and Legends ships so I'm not really likely to get anything from these two.

I thought so too at first. Then I got to the store and held the ships in my hand and just felt ‘bleh’ about spending my money on anything relating to those movies. I even liked the space battle scene at the start of episode 3, but couldn’t get over a gross feeling while holding the expansions. 🤷‍♂️

Although Battlefront 2. Has done a sterling job of getting me to appreciate the prequel era and it's ships and toys, I'll be sticking with the OG Rebellion/Empire for the foreseeable future.

Really looking forward to seeing the prequel era ships in action, though.

For now I'm buying Republic. The CIS will probably come later.
