How long have you played X-Wing?
Collected since Wave 1, 1.0... didn't start playing until Wave 4.
Started playing October 2018 with my wife getting me the 2.0 core set plus an X and Y-Wing for an anniversary present. Plastic crack is the traditional gift for sixteen years, right?
Since 1.0 wave 1.
Wave 3, 1.0, then played pretty consistently until about a year ago. Now Iām back with wave 3 of 2.0, a certain level of kismet there.
1E Wave VIII, I think? It was right when the JM4K came out and U-Boats started murdering everything.
Luckily my local store meta is pretty cool. I think trip u-boats got played a handful of times there, and I saw the Degaroo once or twice then everyone kinda silently Gentleman's Agreement away from them. I was too busy stumbling over my own feet trying to learn the game flying a VT-49 and losing to notice.
I still remember when I one my first game three months into playing.
Wave two 1.0.
Ahhh the days of nonexistent Tie Interceptors and A-Wings.
Wave 5, I think? My first squad was Decimator-Phantom
I got in after wave 4, so summer of 2014. I remember waiting impatiently for wave 5. Had a huge attachment to Shadows of the Empire, so getting the Outrider was huge.

A month later, I bought a TIE x1, borrowed all of his Empire stuff and won a tournament where the prize was 4 small-based ship expansions. Played for something like 6 months having only bought that one x1.
I had been collecting the ships since early 2016 (at latest), but I didn't actually start playing the game until sometime between Waves 11 and 12, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, I didn't discover until after I started playing that 1E was all about fat turrets and invincible aces, so I never really enjoyed that edition and was pretty much fully on board with starting anew as soon as 2E was announced.
Wave 8 for me. I was at a regional for Netrunner and had some store credit to burn, so I thought I'd get a B-Wing model to put on my mantle. Oh Hargle, you naive fool.
A little after Blue Core Set for 1.0 came out. Saw it on clearance at Gamestop and Target and it reminded me of the micromachine toys I used to play with. Been playing since then.
Since the Dark Times ... Wave 5, when Phantoms and Fat Turrets ruled the Earth.
My son got the TFA core set for Xmas 2017, we just played at home till 2.0, substantially growing our collection from the secondary market. Then we converted and joined the larger community for the 1st of the 2.0 events. These last 6 months have flown by. Tomorrow, we attend our 11th store tourney

I had seen the minis on pegs for ages and didn't realize they were for a game... I thought they were high-end collectibles for the longest time (look, the models are sexy as heck! I was bamboozled!) and held off buying into the game for the longest time... I eventually bought the core set and the Ghost when that dropped... and never stopped buying everything >_>
Wave 2, very casually. Didn't start properly buying into the game and playing regulalry until around the time of Heros of the Resistance, and even then it was always casual games against tje same two people. Didn't play anyone else until my first tournament around this time last year.
Started collecting around wave3-4. Started playing around wave 4-5
Wave 3.5, just before Imperial Aces was released.

I bought force awakens the day before 2.0 was announced. Still a noob! Love every match I play though! Which is still not enough
