Is it worth taking a Palp Arc?

Edited by Quack Shot

Can you explain how you would fly this?

Personally I would use Mace instead of Obi. He also has the force charges and with him you got a couple more points to spend for other stuff.

I made this list prior to seeing this thread and I'm defo going to try it.

My thought process was lead with anakin and try to bait them in to attacking him first with the most agility and being given unlimited focuses from Obi and his own force (104 can coordinate a purple evade ), then duck out and use his ability to turn around and get behind them and still take his actions (boost and barrel roll will be key).

At this point you should want to get your 104th into a r1-r2 shot and either give a stress it do a TL + force shot. (if they take a stress a block with the 104th could be clutch. Obi One will probably get a few shield taken off him but you want him to always to be in the mix until you have drained your force. Don't be afraid to do a 5 forward to regen some force with both Ani and Obi. After the initial engagement and the following few rounds the Arc will be whatever it needs to out of a blocker at i2/ coordinater/ stress dealer/ passive calculate damage dealer. Obi One needs to be getting some TL and/or focused shots in and Anakin will be arc dodging and getting bull's-eye shots at a more passive play style as he needs to be alive at the end for MOV.

Not sure if this is the best strategy but it's the one I'll be having a go at.

Obi really gets along well with CLT too. I would make that change, and then you can afford Brilliant Evasion on Anakin (putting him on a comparable survivability level as Obi) and R4-P17 on Obi (putting him on a comparable red-efficiency level as Anakin)

I also strongly advise leaving Palp as Palp, not Sidious - I don't trust the stress on Jedi

I played against this Palp Aces list this past weekend. Even with no bid, Anakin was very squirrelly and hard to pin down. It was a solid list to play against, especially has it was piloted very well, and I think with some changes could be even better.

104th Battalion Pilot (42)
Chancellor Palpatine (14)
Seventh Fleet Gunner (9)
Ship total: 65

Anakin Skywalker (60)
R4-P17 (5)
Delta-7B (18)
Ship total: 83

Luminara Unduli (44)
R4 Astromech (2)
Calibrated Laser Targeting (6)
Ship total: 52
Total: 200

This list was on stream...

Want to contribute my idea for the squad:

Anakin Skywalker (60)
R2 Astromech (4)
Delta-7B (18)

Ahsoka Tano (47)
Delta-7B (15)
Total: 200

104th Battalion Pilot (42)
Chancellor Palpatine (14)

It's really thematic-Ani and Ahsoka.

Like others mentioned before, the 7B title is really important for the Deltas. I don't want to fly an expensive ace with an attack value of 2. I played Anakin a bit and really liked R2 on him. There was always a moment where I disengaged and recharged a shield.

Mace Windu comes in at 62 points like Ahsoka does. Maybe he's better with his I4 and 3 Force. But Ahsoka has a build in PTL without getting a stress token.

There's always R4 Astromech, and that means Saesee Tiin has a lot of blue maneuvers at speeds 1 or 2 to switch between.

  • Anakin (R4 Astromech, Calibrated Laser Targeting) 72
  • Saesee Tiin (R4 Astromech, Delta 7B) 62
  • 104th (Chancellor Palpatine) 56
  • Total 190, bid 10.
    • I could see leaving the bid high with this list, but there's also a lot of options. Upgrade the 104th to Wolffe or Jag, give Anakin Delta 7B instead of CLT, maybe a force talent on someone. Sense could be nifty, turning Saesee into an amazing blocker against higher init ships.

I'm not saying the list is good, or that it folks should trust Ian McDiarmid. Mostly, it's a thought experiment about a Sidious Jedi list.

I played a couple of games with the list I posted above.

I'm not sure about Palp for 14 pts. Especially in a meta thats currently shifting to 4+ ships. On the one hand I couldn't use his ability much often because he get focus fired and killed instantly. On the other hand using him just for the coordinate action seems not worth 56 pts. I rather have a ship with a higher Initiative that can do damage or a cheap coordinator.

Do you guys played him or against him lately? Whats your opinion?
