Well, you get to look at someone's dial, then adjust your speed.
As always, your mileage may vary.

I think it’s a nice cover if you lose the bid or come up against other I6 lists. It’s helpful but requires crazy skill to adjust properly. And if those ships can double-reposition, it may not fully matter if you know what their maneuver is given the options they can do post-maneuver.

I mean, I don't know if I can actually succeed in getting value out of it, but it seems pretty clear in theory.

Same, I’d probably go with R2 Astro and lean on my best guess for maneuvering. I get that not getting shot at all is better than recovering from shots. But as you say... in theory.

R2-A6 also helps to get shots with CLT. The difference between a 1 - 2 - 3 bank in terms of sideways shifting is about the width of the bullseye.
Or it helps not to get blocked, with the potential to either come up short or move past.
Seems like what I'd call a "geometric upgrade." The kind which needs to be evaluated on-table, to have a feel for how you can adjust to the space on the board.
But like, R2 for regen is easy, and regen on someone who's kinda Soontir Fel is good...

i tried the list that carson wray used on a Friday night at my LGS - could not make sense obi work, i felt like i was trying to hard to use it all the time and it just felt meh tbh - stuck with CLT obi which while flimsy is working for me

Talk about relevant:
“In this week's episode Carson Wray (the 2019 X-Wing North American Champion) is joined by Tim Dugan and John McDermid to discuss: how to fly Carson's Championship winning list.”
Yeah, I’d say stick with what’s working for you but this episode may dive into when/how he was able to capitalize on Sense (haven’t listened yet myself).
