New System Open Article with summery of changes in Hyperspace

By JJH_BATMAN, in X-Wing

Hey, Interceptors and StarVipers are now Hyperspace legal (among others)! Sweet!

starviper is good and all but scum is still in the back seat in terms of variety of squads. z-95 is kinda waiting for scum Drea to make it relevant. Same could be said for mining guild tie generic ships.

Starviper is a great addition, as is Dengar (crew) for S&V!

I kind of wish that FFG would include the ship type (or maybe just the icons used for the dial upgrade kits) in the graphics they make for these news posts. I saw the winner had four Sigma Squadron Ace's and had to go look up what the ship was.

I know most, if not all, of the named pilots, but these generic squadron names just get jumbled up in my head.

I don't understand... I thought hyperspace was for the newly released ships. The tie interceptor and bomber have not been re-released so how is somebody new to the game supposed to fly these?

Hyperspace will probably always tend to include new releases, but with the Decimator not being included it's clear that's not a guarantee. Rather the intent is to create a space where the metagame shifts constantly given what is available.

That said, it's probably a very safe bet that the TIE Bomber/Interceptor/Starviper/B-wing/A-wing will be reintroduced by Wave 5. The 2.0 Striker pack has only just now hit the shelves, and it's always been legal, not to mention the Rebel Falcon.

You know if they made all that stuff legal at the start of Hyperspace, I am pretty sure there would have been a lot less backlash and fallout.
