Hyperspace options expanded

By Hippie Moosen, in X-Wing

We got another new article today.

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2019/3/20/the-battle-of-eindhoven/

At the end they confirm that Hyperspace is getting options expanded across all factions.

  • Generic Upgrades: Barrage Rockets, Jamming Beam, Tractor Beam
  • Rebel Alliance: A/SF-01 B-wing, RZ-1 A-wing, all U-wing pilots, Baze Malbus (crew), Cassian Andor (crew)
  • Galactic Empire: TIE Interceptor, TIE/sa Bomber, Ciena Ree, Darth Vader (crew)
  • Scum and Villainy: Z-95-AF4 Headhunter, Star Viper -class Attack Platform, Virago , Dengar (gunner)
  • First Order: Biohexacrypt Code

This is where the fun begins!

Jyn Erso crew is still absent. Argh. But, they gave me Guri. My sweet Guri.

It feels like my planned Resistance Hyperspace list, the faction as a whole, and the First Order as well just got more uninteresting.

As my friend said earlier, this is so much more exciting for the game than the recent points changes.

Also confirmed legal for day 2 Hyperspace at Adepticon šŸ˜

'Tis time to Enforce.

Updated point sheets are out now too. New Hyperspace legality and everything :)

StarVipers should be a huge boost for Scum in Hyperspace.

two days before my Hyperspace Trial. What a mess

And the addition of Z-95s doesn't hurt either. :)

I guess we know what ships are most likely to come in Wave 5, then.

Not really a huge surprise the A-Wing and TIE Interceptor are there, but the Star Viper is an interesting one. It was in the first wave of Scum ships, so I thought we'd see it early. I did wonder if the Scum Y-Wing or HWK-290 might have come before it though.

I was hoping they would. Oh well, Star Vipers and Z-95s work.

Yup. As the owner of only a single Firespray and Fang, and no other previous Hyperspace ships, I basically had super boba fenn as the only list for them I could make. The Z and Star Viper massively expand my options. Boba Fenn Binayre is a solid list for me. Now it’s hyperspafe legal too!

Not a fan of Fangs personally. Aesthetically and the ship ability reads as "fly like an idiot" to me. If they're working for you though that's sweet.

The ship ability to me is their maneuverability. But I’m an old band with Interceptors and Strikers, including generics. So I fly the Fang the same way.

Daredevil Fenn is so fun to me. The few times I’ve flown it, I’ve felt the value.

But I agree that trying to leverage the ship ability is a fools errand. It’s a useful ā€˜hope to not die’ ability though. And it has great linked actions.

Where was it confirmed legal that event? I've been trying to figure out if it was, and hadn't found anything.

Last article says it.

In the "Expanding the Field" section:

"Because the official release date for the third wave of expansions is tomorrow—March 21st—the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance won't be legal for the main event, but we expect to see a good number of droids and Jedi flying to battle in the Hyperspace Qualifier and other side events."

Thanks @Hiemfire I’m on my phone and lazy 😁

Dealing with multiple tabs on a mobile sucks. I've got my PC at hand so it is fairly quick. :)

@SpiderMana and @Hiemfire thank you both for the info!

maybe. its kinda similar to the fang fighter in its role. Guri remains pricey, similar role to Fenn. Hard to build 3 attack die generics around.

Rebels has B and X to just make a 4 ship list thats got firepower and durability and at least one ace.

A, Y and U give even more options.

Scum has Zs as well as th SVs added. Our option are a bit more open than they used to be.

Boba even wout Han gunner is still scums best ship. pairing him with Z-95s and or starvipers could work but scum has to work hard and punch a bit above its weight. WARNING: play skill required, batteries not included.

Kath and Z-95s/mining guild mini swarm hasnt quite come into its own in extended but im hearing rumors of double firesprays and even triples representing well in hyperspace.

Im still on the fence whether adding starvipers and z-95's is going to add much of anything different.

Starvipers and Z-95s don't add much that scum didn't already have.

Z-95s are competing for filler space with the mining guild TIE and the lando shuttle, but the Zs don't bring any interesting tricks or pilot abilities.

The starviper fits a similar role to the fang, but at least Guri has a strong pilot ability to make her worth bringing. I can't see the others getting table time, though, and even Guri is a hard call over Old Teroch.

Imperials got the biggest boost imo, with soontir, vader crew for vermeil, and particularly barrage rockets.

100% agree. Boba is still top dog in hyperspace for scum.

Soontir, B-Wings and even rebel Y's are going to rain on Guri's parade.

Rebels were already rock solid in hyperspace. Y's, U's and X-Wing aces and now they get B-Wings.

Republic Aethersprites and Arc-170s are looking fearsome.

Galactic Empire have intercepters and bombers! Soontir has arrived, you might have seen him solo a list before?

Oh and vulture swarms are coming to a store near you.

Scum have.... Guri and generic star vipers! [insert silence followed by cricket noises here]

Guri is a solid addition to scum, but anywhere where she fits could have fitted Fenn already with space to spare, so I don't see her shaking up scum archetypes too much. That said, she has a lot of fans who will be pleased to fly her.

Soontir is straight-up better than all the Jedi in my opinion. 54 points with predator and he's one mean machine

I think the lists I'm most concerned about are barrage bombers and energy shell droids. The sith infiltrator is going to be alright too, especially with grievous crew to tank it up.
