A Kind of Weird Idea For 2 Ship

By The Jabbawookie, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

An attempt to beef it up a little at the expense of early squad aggression and power. The theory is that against anything without a lot of squads you’re bombing them and have 2 Kuats, and for any carrier matchups... you’re bombing them* and you have 2 Kuats.

How about on your Pryce Kuat OE for Boarding Troopers, and ACM for Leading Shots and Ex Racks? (400 on the nose).

😁

I just ran a very similar list at my local tournament and won with it..

needs more bid, maybe a jump master, but I took advantage of my minimal squadron meta and SA is useless. Obliviously pryce is one of the strongest tools in the toolbox. Thrawn basically adds a 3rd ISD into the combined two ISD activations when they squadron. Fun stuff!

ISD Kuat Refit (112)
• Grand Admiral Thrawn (32)
• Governor Pryce (7)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• External Racks (3)
• Avenger (5)
= 173 Points

ISD Kuat Refit (112)
• Strategic Adviser (4)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• External Racks (3)
= 133 Points

Squadrons:
• Colonel Jendon (20)
• Mauler Mithel (15)
• Whisper (20)
• Maarek Stele (21)
• TIE Phantom Squadron (14)
= 90 Points

Total Points: 396

why do you have pryce not on avenger?

Did you conclude SA is useless after running it or is that a typo? I figured I’d bring Hondo to set up for BTA and speed changes, because there aren’t a whole lot of fleets dipping below 5 activations around here. Dropping a JM5K sounds good; Zertik is watching everyone’s back and maybe they should be fighting anyone who brought more squads anyway. Pryce should definitely be on Avenger (in this case I’ll move the title.). Good catch!

I found SA to be useless after running it because I was out activated by more than one, like you said. I think a jump master would be nice if you can find the points for it. I like Zertik in this list, but replaced him with mauler and phantom because I felt like I needed more firepower. If I run it again, I think I will run it like this:

ISD Kuat Refit (112)
• Grand Admiral Thrawn (32)
• Hondo Ohnaka (2)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• External Racks (3)
• Sovereign (4) —> potentially a cut, but it makes hondo nice because we can give them any two tokens that they do not need hahaha
= 167 Points

ISD Kuat Refit (112)
• Governor Pryce (7)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• External Racks (3)
• Avenger (5)
= 141 Points

Squadrons:
• Colonel Jendon (20)
• Maarek Stele (21)
• JumpMaster 5000 (12)
• TIE Phantom Squadron (14)
• Mauler Mithel (15)
= 82 Points

Total Points: 390

Explanation for sovereign

I did something similar to this but did this:

Assault: Advanced Gunnery
Defense: Fighter Ambush
Navigation: Superior Positions

Imperial I (110)
• Governor Pryce (7)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Boosted Comms (4)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Avenger (5)
= 138 Points

Imperial I (110)
• Grand Admiral Thrawn (32)
• Minister Tua (2)
• Darth Vader (3)
• Boosted Comms (4)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
= 167 Points

Squadrons:
• Captain Jonus (16)
• Gamma Squadron (10)
• Dengar (20)
• 4 x TIE Bomber Squadron (36)
• Valen Rudor (13)
= 95 Points

Total Points: 400

Worked pretty well the time I used it.

Not much can be done on that front.

Although The fact it’s a Pryce BTVenger means it’s intending to never be shot at, at all...

... don’t need ECMs then.

It will still get shot, it can just live through it. I would think a kuat could fix that. Kuat and a 1? Not a bad plan
