Is the battle example on page 11 correct?

By Blustar, in Talisman

The Psionic Blast spell says to add your "craft value to your strength" and I always included all my craft (including counters but not objects and followers). I always thought your craft value was the printed value plus the extra cone.

So when the rules state craft value they specifically mean just the printed value?

In the example the Wizard only gets 5 ( his printed value) and ignores the 2 extra craft.

Str/Craft Value are the printed number, nothing more, nothing less. Monk with Craft 20 will still add only +3 in battle, because his Craft value is 3. Str and Craft values are mentioned on pages 4 and 5 respectively.

So if the characters strength/craft is asked for in the game then it means you add followers and objects that just add to strength/craft? ( I know weapons only add to strength during combat) But, if a card asks for "strength/craft value" it means what's on the character card without the cones, followers, etc...?

Yes.
