Its come up as some conjecture with the ruling here about the relationship of Unnatural Intelligence and the bonus to Int based skills
As written-
"Each time you apply this Trait to the same characteristic the bonus multiplier increases by 1
During Opposed Characteristic tests on a success the bonus multiplier is added to the degree of success."
The arguement centres around the Opposed test.
The bonus multiplier adds +1 degree of success for each level so for example-
Base stat of 50 Int, +10 Common Lore- Imperium, character rolls a 40 and has 2 success +1 success from Unnatural Int x 2 = 3 degrees of success
Or is it for example-
Base stat of 50 Int, +10 Common Lore- Imperium, character rolls a 40 and has 2 success x 2 from Unnatural Int x 2 = 4 degrees of successes
My ruling as a GM is that it is 4 degrees of success for the above example, so if say the same was applied to Dodge (+ Unat Ag x 2) vs someones Weapon/Ballistic skill, more successes equals more avoidance of the attack, HOWEVER, the argument centres around say, an unopposed Skill test - say Tech use or Scholastic/Common lores which aren't typically opposed by another player/NPC and the character should roll base stat, any success on the skill only add +1 degree of success.
