Double Falcons

By Asaverino1019, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been working a good double Falcon list for hyperspace and have two thoughts:

Han Solo (82)

Trick Shot (2)

R2-D2 (8)

C-3PO (8)

Hot-shot Gunner (7)

Lando Calrissian (80)

Trick Shot (2)

Nien Numb (5)

Millennium Falcon (6)

---or---

Han Solo (82)

Lando Calrissian (80)

Grey Squadron Bomber (31)

With the second list I haven't decided if I'd rather put proton bombs/prox mines on the Y-wing, or Hot-shot on Han. Thoughts?

I don't think the Y will do you much good. It's too slow to keep up with the YTs, so I would just go for the two ship build.

With C-3PO Han wants to calculate when he isn't boosting, so I would move the title to Lando to make them more self-contained.

Other than that, most of you choises makes sense. Hot-shot gunner feels a little out of place on your strongest gun (if you use Lando's ability defensively) in a two ship list. I would probaly go for Leia and something else instead, but it's mostly a matter of preference I think.

A friend of mine plays double falcon quite a bit. It is stronger than one would think, especially since the falcons are so incredibly fast. Trick shot is great. Hot Shot Gunner is not really worth it. Like Yearfire said, you can consider Leia instead. Also a rigged Cargo chute on one of the ships is nice.

Since Nien is a staple on Lando drop the Idea of the second list.

I run double pancakes in Hyperspace and it definitely is a fun/easy build to work with. I run Rigged cargo chutes on mine because I can have Lando give Han an early action, dropping his chute before he moves... sometimes you catch I5-I6 pilots trailing Han with that debris, giving both your falcons Trick Shot hits too or making sure Han triggers near debris every turn. I had Leia for a bit, but I agree with you in cutting it. I was not a fan of C3PO in my list, I would almost consider Saw G. over C3PO because you can take a shield off for Saw, and have R2 put it back for free. In an extended build, I would GNK droid instead. I also cut the title and put a set of Cluster Missiles on Han just to push my opponent to not Joust me with all his ships tight together

I thought about using Saw on Lando instead of 3PO on Han to capitalize on Han stripping a focus with Hotshot.

My thoughts on double Hyperspace falcons have always drifted towards:

Lando (Nien, Magva, Title)

Han (R2-D2, Leia, Hotshot Gunner)

Lando is a bloody tank who SUCKS to shoot at, and hits like a truck, and to ignore Han is dangerous, but he's still tough and mean

Definitely add Leia crew somewhere.

I had fun with this build :

- Leia is great

- RiggedCargo is too good, especially when you drop it and immediately use TrickShot!

- R2 and the title add survivalability

- add ion-missiles or cluster-m (on Han, see above; and rerolls) to taste

they are incredibly fast!! And dodge arc like like ****.

Usually Lando skirts on the outside and Han flies nearer to the enemy and closer on the inside or even directly through the asteroids.

Change postition to split damage.

Han is an endgame beast because of R2!

and Landos double mods are dangerous!

Practice flying through asteroids, it’s easier than you think

Try shenanigans like:

-dial 4K, trigger Leia and drop cargo.

-let Han drop cargo before he moves

-let Han boost, fly blue, perform action ==> move 8 forward!!

-letting Han boost before he moves is basically advanced sensors!
