What is the point of double modifications on tie interceptors?

Yeah, there's really no right answer to that. Somebody loses no matter how they try to do it.

No new cards in OT ships? Sad for people who want the new cards.
New cards in OT ships? Sad for veterans who don't want to re-buy.
No new cards? Sad for everyone, new stuff is fun, game stagnates.
Cards sold directly, in some kind of card pack? Sad for retailers, who have to make space for additional SKUs that have much smaller margins.

I think if FFG would put out a campaign or missions expansion (maybe multiple - one per time period or something?) they could solve all of these concerns you mention. It would make perfect sense in an expansion like that to include new Limited cards for each faction playable in that campaign along with generic cards usable by any faction. New players and veterans alike would be interested in the new content, plus Armada's campaign is sort of a precedent for this and at MSRP $30 it's like buying a medium ship expansion as far as retailers are concerned. It is interesting to me that the 2.0 stuff doesn't come with missions like the 1.0 stuff did, so I wonder if they're planning on doing something along these lines.

I can't fully agree with this, since there's a lot it'd depend on. If it was like 1e, where nearly every ship in a wave would have the same new Elite/Talent in it, regardless of faction, that'd probably be pretty clearly the best.

For example, there are new (Plasma?) Torpedoes in the N-1, Hyena, and Resistance Transport. Those same new torpedoes are not in the Silencer or B-Wing expansions. I think it'd be pretty good for generic cards which don't depend on one faction or another--or on any specific ships--to be generally available. Maybe someone can buy from an N-1 (I don't necessarily feel I need more B-Wings), but someone who is only interested in B-Wings has options.

That's a bit different from the potential fix cards like folks are looking for w/r/t Kihraxz and Interceptor multiple Mod slots, but I think there's a class of generic upgrades which ought to be broadly available. The more expansions they're in, the less likely someone has to buy one they're not interested in.

IMHO, one decent option is to offer the old ships with (at a minimum) new livery. The TIE/ln could have easily come with Inferno Squadron markings, and some people (like me) would pick it up just for aesthetic reasons.

I realize that does get a little tricky for the monochrome Empire, but even then, there are options. For example, I'd like to see the TIE Defender come with yellow prototype markings.

I'll never have 0-0-0 because I'm not buying anything just for cardboard.

Overall, as the game has already proven, the cardboard is disposable. If they want me to buy new stuff, the ship itself is critical.

Same same... if needs be I will make my own cards or just run off a printed-off list. The new b-wing sculpt looks good and I will probably get it as I just have the one B-wing.
