Do I need to spend a 2nd charge to get the bonus attack?

Yes
Ok, I'm going to be the stupid one and ask for the explanation on this.
"Attack (LOCK): Spend 1 CHARGE. After this attack, you may perform this attack as a bonus attack against a different target at range 0-1 of the defender, ignoring the LOCK requirement."
The card says you have to spend the charge to make the attack against the first target. Since as written it implies that the bonus attack against another target is part of the same attack as the initial one it doesn't call for spending another charge. I know I'm probably wrong in this interpretation but that's just the way my befuddled old brain sees it.

You perform the entire attack again, so you start back at the Attack: text. Every requirement and wording still applies - has to be in your arc, within range, etc - you just ignore specifically the lock requirement.
Thank you. I briefly discussed this with someone at my casual night last night and his initial reaction was the same as mine.
So out of curiosity, would it be possible to burn through up to four charges in a single engagement phase assuming all range and arc requirements are otherwise met? The ideal example being that there's a formation of TIE fighters in a perfect formation to just daisy chain the attack?

Yes, but also, no: the rules limit each ship to only one bonus attack per round.
Thanks for your answers and patience. And when I looked up bonus attacks in the rules reference it specifically using cluster missiles as an example and mentions spending the charge.
