Situation on Krennic and Deathtroopers 3.0

I still see people playing it pretty regularly at game stores. It's a fantastic game. The only reason i haven't gotten back into it is $$$. I can only keep up with Legion and X-wing at the moment

Sorry I meant that FFG haven’t really focused on expansions for it. Apparently these days it’s mostly X wing 2.0 and Legion and I’ve heard imperial assault has also been abandoned slightly

We've had legion previews right before the model comes out and sometimes a week or more before the model comes out. The preview isn't always guaranteed a week and a half before the models. We never really got the imperial specialists preview article at all.

Yeah sometimes I forget how crazy the 2.0 release was. Just the sheer amount of logistical resources devoted to redesigning every ship in the game and outputting the cardboard and dials and new cards for all of them all at once is insane. Probably pulled a lot of printing and play testing resources away from other products

They did I think but they merged it with the rebels as they’re basically identical. Wasn’t informative either

The sad truth 😭

IA just had a release for Lothal, and Armada is now getting the SSD.

X-wing 2.0 and Legion are both much newer games, so it makes sense that FFG would focus on them. As mentioned by KommanderKeldoth, FFG created stats and cards for all existing X-wing ships. That's not a small undertaking from a production or development standpoint.

They didn't release a pre-release splash article with a information about the command cards and some unique upgrades like they have for other releases, just the announcement article.

Imperial Assault is dead to me on a personal level. Legion is everything I wanted Imperial Assault to be. I'm not interested in a Descent re-skin

Imperial Assault is newer than X-wing. But yeah, Legion is the new kid on the block that they want to aggressively get established. I'm glad they learned from the Runewars miniatures launch which was way too spread out so it didnt gather enough steam.

True but the releases for IA and Armada have died down a lot.

Meanwhile with the specialists, Krennic seems to have more potential and abilities etc. so an earlier preview would make sense as the other unique commanders had one

X-wing 2.0 is newer than IA though. Honestly, in some ways it's almost a completely new game built on the original X-wing game.

I wasn't saying they hadn't decreased, but you indicated they hadn't had ANY releases. FFG did also announce that Armada will be getting Clone Wars releases after the big CW announcements last year. Much quieter, but they did confirm Armada IIRC.

Jyn's article wasn't that far ahead of the model's release. Some articles have been the same week as release.

I remember when X-Wing first came out releases were 6 months late.

Yeah, the Imperial Raider was famously over a year late and Wave 8 was also pretty behind (leading to the nickname 'wave wait')

Reprints were also a huge issue, with secondary market prices fluctuating wildly with shortages of certain ships

As were releases for Armada, the Star Wars, LCG, and Runewars...and then there is the abysmal situation with Organized Play kits at the moment....

After the last few years you have to give FFG credit for how they have been doing with the releases for Legion. Seriously, they have released new expansions EVERY MONTH for the last 12 months and don't appear to be slowing down. Granted the releases come near the end of the month/quarter but they haven't missed a release yet.

Given this historical data we can assume that we will receive the Occupier and X-34 near the end of April, Bossk and Sabine near the end of May, the Downed AT-ST near the end of June (right before or after the Legion World Championship on June 22nd) and then the Rebel Veterans/Tauntauns near the end of July. Keep in mind this is still an assumption and not stated fact.

So you think Krennic and death troopers will be this month?

Yes in about two weeks.

The raider was a huge step up and difference for normal x wing gameplay. The size made it difficult etc whilst Krennic and death troopers isn’t too much of a challenge for normal legion releases

Yeah, I was just reminiscing. I'm sure we'll get our toys by the end of the month

Good, as long as he’s released before brexit then he should come into the UK without trouble or delays

Sorry misunderstood 😀

Yes, there are already reports on FB that they will be released on March 28th in the US. That fits with the "near the end of the month" track record.

Also, the "Upcoming" page on the US site is VERY unreliable. Jyn and the Pathfinders weren't on the list until they went to "Shipping Now" and entire Waves of X-Wing 2.0 have been absent as well. The most reliable part of the site (so far) has been that if something goes to "Shipping Now" it will be on the shelves 2 weeks later, but I wouldn't put money on that.

I think "an inference based on historical data" a better way to put it.

And @Manchester: We go through this every month, with every release. One of them was slightly delayed about a week but other than that it's the end of the month, somewhere between the 23rd and the 28th every month. You should assume that going forward and if it changes you will likely hear about it from like a million places.

I think with the cards spoiled during the live stream the only card we don’t know for the Deathtroopers is the other heavy personnel option.

Do we know all of Krennic's command cards?

@FSD we don’t, which is odd considering the livestream spoiled all of Bossk’s and Sabine’s despite them being a little ways down the release pipeline. We still have the Landspeeder and Occupier scheduled before them.

Nope, not combined, just flat out missing an imperial preview. It's possible someone got a little hurt that the pack was spoiled by video on Youtube about the same day, but that's just lazy to not post an article that someone might still come to your page to read.
