Assume someone has all the other conversion kits (so generic upgrades not faction locked are a nonissue), and is tempted to dabble in Resistance.

Also assume the only model they have compatible and ready is a YT1300.

Is it worth investing in a conversion kit when the plan for dabbling involves buying 2.0 packs for the other fighters? Are the contents of the kit so good as to merit buying one for the falcon and the bomber, and trying to 2nd a bomber model?

Or just pass on the kit?

I **really** don’t want yet another YT model, so my odds of buying a new expansion of one are pretty small. I already have 2 from 1.0 plus the scum YT.

If your just gonna dabble, I say just proxy the falcon. Han scum cardboard works for Han resistance. The conversion kits have the good crew like Rose and C3PO, but unless you plan on entering tournies, proxying crew for casual night is not a problem in 99% of LGS. If you have first order kit, then you have pattern analyzer and optics. Other than that, just getting the t70s and awings will supply you with everything you need: Pilots, heroic, astromechs

Two ideas:

1) Buy the kit and sell/trade off the X-wing bits.

2) Get a new (rectangle) dish to swap on your falcon. I know I saw at least one of these on Shapeways, even before the official FFG model.
