Replacement weapons for corp units

By chr335, in Star Wars: Legion

So with pathfinders and deathtroopers getting a replacement weapon (not sure the actual upgrade name) would we like to see such upgrades available to corp units?

I personally would like it and hope we could get upgrades like it

1. It is an additional weapon.

2. They would have to errata current corps for it to work.

Would rather see a personnel pack with new heavy options though. Or more trooper options.

Heavy weapons expansions would be great, two or three generic options, and one or two named characters to add a little more flavor to units. Adding Baze or Chirrut to your Pathfinders would be awesome!

I don't know what you mean when you say "replacement weapon."

The new Armament slot that Pathfinders/Jyn/Deathtroopers have.

Presumably the reconfigurable options for the A-300.

But yeah, the other current units don't have a slot for it. Better to release some alt. options for the heavy weapon slot.

Aha. Just so you know, it doesn't actually replace anything. Also, no Corps options we've seen have that slot. Theoretically they could put it on anything, but it seems like it's more for Trooper units. There's no reason a Corp unit couldn't have it eventually, I guess.

No reason why something similar to the specialists box sets are not released with different heavies for fleets & rebel troopers, I think the challenge is that the corps units are supposed to be somewhat unique, which I think they are today and it may not be easy to thematically shoehorn in heavies that stick to that philosophy.

The other option they could go with is supplying 2-4 heavies in a box that can be attached to any Corps unit, but again this might remove some of the differentiating capabilities between corps units capabilities between troopers to some extent. I'm personally happy they start making affordable add-ons that allow you to customize existing units though... fingers crossed.

Just needs a Gear card that says "This adds an armament upgrade to a unit. You must equip an armament to this unit."

Or a Infantry upgrade like the Comms specialist called like a "Weapon Specialist" or "Weapon technician."

Now what armaments would we like to see if we get them. For the imperials the E22. For the rebels I don't know.

I don't know what they could do if they add a weapon expert. Just look at Fleet Troopers. Do we give them a r3 or r4 weapon? Though I think a r3 weapon could help their grenade launcher.

I think it works better for gear, that keeps specialists from getting locked out.

First we'd need an Armament upgrade that wasn't locked to a specific unit, which is also balanced regardless of what unit carries it before this becomes an issue.

Honestly, unlocked Armaments are probably unlikely, if just because such weapons are likely to be expensive, and therefore both the Empire and Rebels would likely issue such weapons to units other than basic infantry.

Based in veteran Rebels Stormies will get a new corps option with separate weapon. This would be a good opportunity to mix up the basic stormtrooper stats

Huh? Rebel Veterans don't have the Armament Upgrade.

Upgrade bloat is annoying. Keep the game defining units as basic as possible.

sorry for any misunderstanding, what I meant was the upcoming release could be a variation on the stormtrooper, not change the stormtrooper unit itself, like add a defense surge, change the color on a die, etc.

No they have a miniature that can be deployed as a separate unit. I imagine the Empire would get something like the T-21 repeating blaster

I do wonder if Fleets with the A280 would work.

What do you mean by "work"? A unit with the A280 and the Fleet trooper uniform? It certainly a possibility, but I'd expect that to be some other unit name like "Rebel Landing Troops" or "Rebel Marines."

I mean like give them an armament upgrade in the form of a trooper upgrade. Then take the MPL.
