Navy troopers would be cool.... May throw in an Imperial Engineer (as they were known in Battle Front II) /Death Star Gunner for the heavy weapon.

What's everyone's guess as to when we'll get the article? Today? Tomorrow? Friday?

I'm hoping sooner, just to put the debate to rest.
I'm firmly on the side of shoretroopers, though I have presented other options, and think the navy troops should have a different role than that of a corps unit.

I started to type then noticed your post. FF has come out with odd selections before like Fleet Troopers and Snowtroopers as opposite sides.
The only thing certain is that we will get a corps unit. We could end up with this instead of dewbacks. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/C-PH_patrol_speeder_bike
I would be happy with either, but I think some might riot if they donโt get their dewbacks.๐ณ
Nope! Nopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenope.
Noooope.
No more boring "slight variant of an existing guy possibly riding on a variant of an existing vehicle" releases!
Angry lizards running into battle, with stormies with stun sticks are the bare minimum.
What we really need is a Rancor with a little patio on his back (think oliphants from LOTR) carrying an e-web team.
Creature Trooper is a thing now, let's use it.
Jumptroopers would be more interesting than Mudtroopers or Shoretroopers. High speed, lower defense corps.
Edited by PoldaIf FFG wants my money, they'll release Mudtroopers next. Or else Imperial Navy, or Sandtroopers that are somehow cooler than we imagine.
If they'd like me to keep my money, they should release Shore Troopers. I don't hate them, but there other things go I want to see first.
I know the most obvious choice for next imperial releases is deback riders and some corps troop (stormtroop variant) choice but I would certainly hand over my wallet if we get mud troopers and this:

Wish listing, I know but an asymmetrical release would be so awesome and probably keep more people interested in the game instead of white pawn/black pawn, white rook/black rook.

So AWESOME!!! Maybe 50-60$ each? Because I would buy 2.

What is it firing? It resembles an Apache rocket trail, but appears to be a bolt of light/plasma?
Considering the outcry that came about when they announced the Occupier and X-34 together, I can only imagine how hurt Facebook would be if the pairing with the Tauntaun was a freaking gunship. Better to hold off the Gunship until after the Clone Wars units are released, and there's a need for a big flashy unit.

What even is that? Looks like what would happen if the prequel clone transport and a TIE Defender had a baby ship together.

Check Star Wars: Rebels. It is an empire troop transport called "Republic police gunship" and it is used by the Galactic Empire in a lot of episodes of Rebels.
It would be cool if Imperial navy troopers got an orbital strike bombardment beacon as one of their heavies. Place a token down like a charge but it attacks everything in range 1-2 regardless of line of sight. The range 1-2 would make it risky to use and hard to avoid getting hit by your own strike.
Another thing I'd like to see is an automated turret placement mechanic which would fit an imperial engineer mini as the navy trooper heavy weapon specialist (or just a generic heavy weapon specialist in a future specialist expansion)
So if we do get a Dewback as the Support unit and since the Tauntauns are seen as a "mirror" to the Speeder bikes...
Does this mean we might just get a single Dewback trooper mini in the expansion on a similar sized base as the AT-RT?
I am actually of the opinion that sandtroopers could be cool. We got the rebel commandos which were not that visually different from rebel troopers. Sandtroopers could have some significant rules differences. If nothing else, the sandtroopers in ANH all seemed to be carrying long rifles. That shoud give them some kind of mechanical difference. Add cool new poses with multi-part minis and I think it would be different enough to warrant its own release. Now this is assuming we are getting a dewback. If we get navy troopers, I want probe droids to go with them.

I would love this thing too!
Thinking 8 Hull
White defense with surge
Speed 2
Closed Heavy Transport 1, Speeder 2, Hover (new keyword, you may perform a pivot instead of your compulsory move), Armor 3, Arsenal 2, Immune: Melee, Blast
Forward Laser Cannons range 1-3 RRBB Front arc only, Impact 2
3 Hardpoint Upgrades, Pilot Upgrade, Comms Upgrade
Upgrades would be Rear facing laser cannon (Range 1-3, BBW rear arc only, impact 1), door gunner (Range 1-2, WWWW, side arcs only, suppressive), Missile launchers (Range 2-4, RBBB, Impact 3, Exhaust, Blast), Some generic pilot/a named character from Rebels with some ability that helps troopers that disembark (gives them a free aim token or some such)
It would come with a bunch of parts so that you can build it with side doors open or closed and extra storm trooper minis to put riding inside as door gunners or as a passengers.

Seems logical. Dewbacks are Imperial AT-RTs. Armored scales, flamethrowers, climbing ability ...
Ewoks! Coz now that Tauntauns can fight outside their homeworld, ewoks can too!

Ugh a police gunship in a war game? No.

I've been wondering about that too. They seem bigger to me anyways.

We left those concerns behind when Palpatine shows up to personally oversee the protection of a few moisture vaporators.

If they want MY money, they'll release..... ah **** who am i kidding. At this point, I might as well set up a direct deposit to FFG.

A police gunship which has been used multiple times in the galactic civil war? Ugh, yes.

Strike this vaporator down with all of your anger and your journey towards the dry side will be complete!

Those are Palpatine's personally funded vaporators that he installed himself as a side project during the CW era.

One of the many option I have posted is a veteran reissue of the basic stormtrooper squad, give an upgrade to get the training, multi-part customizable models they give option of sandtroopers, but basic reissue of default stormtrooper squad card.

Heh, I suppose the "IMPERIAL ONLY, GROUND VEHICLE ONLY" restriction on the new Imperial Hammer Elite Armor Pilot, First Seargant Arbmab and Weiss does exist for a reason. And it's certainly a *fun* release ๐
