One of the many option I have posted is a veteran reissue of the basic stormtrooper squad, give an upgrade to get the training, multi-part customizable models they give option of sandtroopers, but basic reissue of default stormtrooper squad card.

The different arms for Bossk were a great call. They kinda hafta release Bossk standing there with a gun, but I have enough minis of Bossk standing there holding a gun, I won't buy another. But he IS my favorite bounty hunter, and now I can get a different Bossk for my collection. But unless rebel veterans are multi-pose, I see no reason to think multi-pose squads are forthcoming.

+1. It seems like a thing for Commanders/Operatives.

Understandable. The reason I think that stormtroopers are a candidate for multi pose models is their uniformity. Barring other types of stormtrooper (shore, scout, space, etc) the basic stormtrooper is see all over the galaxy, often with slightly different gear. There is nothing to differentiate them, save for a few scant upgrades. The armour alone lends to easier to differing poses. Having a few stormtroopers here and there mixed amongst the 3-5 squads with the exact same pose would facilitate sales for a stormtrooper rerelease. Add in the extra veteran status (if that is the case) Is even better. Put in a probe droid detatchnent, and to quote Hondo’s mother, “that’s just good business”.

Conversely, the rebels can easily pepper in an alien here and there with every release. We have duros, mon cal (Loku), pruneface, Bistan, Pao, and an upcoming sullustan. These models can make a squad “pop” when it comes to uniformity. Even what the rebels wear can have minor variations, and the human can have differing heads. whereas the Stormtrooper has the same white armour and blaster.

Having an alternate sculpt squad, that you can mix and match models with your existing stormtroopers will further provide a reason for multiple purchases of the same sku. Theoreticalky, this pack could have the options to make mimban stormtroopers, sandtroopers, etc.

To me, it is a good way to create a unit that is already balanced and tested, thematically numerous, and a way to keep them in play over any new releases.

Check Star Wars: Rebels. It is an empire troop transport called "Republic police gunship" and it is used by the Galactic Empire in a lot of episodes of Rebels.

I think they were in the Clone Wars series as well at the end on Coruscant when Ahsoka and Asajj were fleeing together in the underworld.

This is great. PAlpy's humidifiers for his CPAP machine

I'd love to see a cheaper, less armored infantry unit myself.

Thematically, Shoretroopers seem like the logical choice. Lore-wise, they're basically just veterans that are used to lead/train other troopers or can operate as their own unit. They don't have the same level of specialized trainin/equipment/battlefield role that we see out of some of the other choices and that mirrors the Rebel Veterans neatly in a way that most other choices wouldn't.

I agree, I just like posting options and theory crafting. There are a multitude of ways to do things, I like thinking about them.

I think Shore Troopers should be sold as "unit attachments/boosters." Sell them as a six pack of figs that can be their own unit or split it to add troops to existing units. That's how they seem to be utilized in Rogue One. That being said, I hope the Imperial release is "Imperial Veterans" that look an awful lot like Sandtroopers.

I like the idea of having more stormtroopers with different poses on the tabletop.

Ugh a police gunship in a war game? No.

Doesn't stop people from begging for "riot" troopers all the time.

This. Had this thought the other night. Have them be a unit you can take as normal, but also have 1 or 2 personnel cards inside that can go in Stormtrooper squads and have the leader keyword.

Are those the dumb looking ones with the shields and electro staves from the clone wars series? Maybe when they release the “civil unrest rioting population” unit expansion?

If Saw's Partisans become a unit, then Riot Control Troopers would have an actual excuse to be added.

But they will be the first order ones if they come!
