I never said we wouldn’t have a Jedi Operative, so it’s not possible to disagree with me on that. Quinlan might be an Operative, but Ventress was almost always in command of troops starting from the Clone Wars animated movie so she will be a Commander for sure, unless they make her from the last season when she becomes a bounty hunter. I totally agree with you about Maul though.

Even during the Clone Wars, Dooku used Ventress as an assassin much more than a commander I think. In almost every comic/book/tv serie I have read/watched I saw Ventress as an assassin independent to the army operations. She maybe fighting "near" the army but always with her objective in mind, not leading the droids.

One great example is the book "Jedi trial" where she arrives to "help" Pors Tonith, the general of the droid army. Tonith remained the commander while Ventress fought her own war for her own purposes. Multiple examples are provided in the Clone Wars comics (almost every time playing independent agent for the CIS).

I do not imply she is 100% operative but maybe 80% operative 20% commander. Depending on how many other commanders and operatives FFG are creating she will fill one role or another.

Really depends on the situation. She was given the rank of Commander, and we see her commanding troops in certain situations. Overall, I agree she'd make a much better operative, but I wouldn't be shocked if she ended up a commander. Durge, on the other hand, fits the role of Operative to a tee.

I have it on good authority that the new Core Set is going to be Gungans vs Geonosians.

You joke, but I'd love to have a Gungan army. Besides the trolling factor of the Gungans, they'd actually bring a lot of really cool concepts and ideas to the table.

Ooooh. Durge. Like 12 health and regeneration 6 like minimum. Yep, if Ventress is 80% Operative Durge is 100% no doubt.

It would be amazing if they ended up giving us Durge at somepoint, the only knock against him is that he isn't canon so he wouldn't be a priority but then again it isn't like the CIS has tons of recognizable faces for commanders and operatives. At least no where near as many as the Republic has available to them.

Clone wars I is not canon? I did not know that.
Ok, if you are not going to give us the best bounty hunter in the galaxy at least give us Aurra Sing (she is in the canon). She would be a great sniper for this game.

It is as canon as Droids and The E-e-e-e-e-e-ewoks (and the spirits of the forest moon~), so not canon at all. Pretty sure points in Clone Wars contradict it too, what with when Anakin is knighted, Wat Tambor getting his suit crushed, some of the stuff with Assaj Ventress. I know it was canon in Legends but new canon is just the films, Clone Wars, and stuff moving forward since the Disney acquisition.

I'd argue that Cad Bane is the best during the Clone Wars era, but Durge was very unique in his own way and rather awesome. Aurra Sing, is definitely canon, even showing up in TPM for a second, and very likely would be an Operative to add to the CIS considering she often hunted Jedi.

I disagree. I am pretty sure we are are going to have Jedi operatives. Not all jedis are the "commanding type" and that is way more important than actual rank in the canon. My bet is Quinlan Vos as republic operative and Asajj as CIS operative. They do not fill the commander role at all. Same goes for Darth Maul. I see him more like an operative for CIS.

I strongly disagree about Darth Maul since he was technically never part of the CIS, he only worked alongside the Trade Federation, ten years before the formation of the CIS. Clone Wars era, he would be a Commander of The Shadow Collective.

It is possible that FFG decides to just lump all the movies together though, rather than strictly stick to the Clone Wars era, in which case Operative is probably most fitting.

That is correct, he worked alongside the Trade Federation and that is enough for me. Who has all the fun toys? The trade federation with his B1s, droidekas and STAP. Did he "died" early? Yes. Is that an impediment for FFG capable of avoiding them to print money with the name "Darth Maul" in it? I don´ t think so.

I would like something like this:

Darth Maul. Expensive Operative. Move 2. 6 health. Courage 3. Red defense die. Surge to crit. Surge to defense. Immune pierce. Deflect. Charge. Jump 1. Melee 6 red dice (impact 3, pierce 3). 2 Force upgrades. 1 training upgrade.

Your thoughts?

What I was pointing out is that technically Darth Maul died a decade before the Clone Wars began, and would fit in a bit better with a different possible future faction. FFG has said they were doing "Clone Wars," but did not specify they were only doing CIS and GAR. My opinion don't really matter to FFG, so I was simply making an observation as to why Maul might not be included. Especially since FFG probably does NOT have final say on what units are produced since Legion is a licensed game.

Besides, the CIS has tons of other bounty hunters that could be used for Operatives, from Cad Bane to young Boba Fett.

For named CIS Commanders besides Dooku and Grievous: Whorm Loathsom, Lok Durd, Trench, Riff Tamson, and I'm sure some others I've forgotten.

Correct. Maul is not the most "adaptable" one for CIS but he is indeed the coolest one. Cad Bane is ok for CIS but I would include Jango Fett before young Boba always.

And again, i prefer Darth Maul before SpiderMaul, BlackSaberMaul or Old Man Maul. (If FFG is reading: I would buy them all)

Give me clone Commandos, Phase I clone troopers, Phase I ARC troopers , and jedi (heroes and generic with variable races) and I'll be a happy man.

Durge would be an awesome character to have, now I am going to have to rewatch the cartoon clone wars series.
