Next Imperial Corps and Support Speculation

My guess is we'll get all the news this Thursday at adoption.
I am pretty antsy for the alleged dewbacks release. Mostly because I wanna see what’s next (ie, will I get a Hoth rebel commander?).

Rebel Hoth commander confirmed

Same.
Using the flawed logic of 'because the Rebels got this, Imperials will get X' I think shoretroopers are fairly likely. They have the potential for a detached, independent one-man heavy weapon. It is possibly one of the stupidest, most illogical weapons in SW, so I personally hope it never sees the light of day, though I do eventually want shoretroopers. But, frankly, it's anyone's guess what we'll get.

I still have dreams of a squad of bounty hunters with a detached corellian hound handler.

Where and when was this confirmed? I must have missed it.

I wouldn't mind them being their own unit of handler and four dogs so we can have the complete set: Blackie, Boyce, Saxon and Elsa (Or at least those are the names of the canine actors who portrayed them in some scenes).

It would only be "flawed logic" if FFG hadn't literally released units that fill the same force org slot, with identical upgrade slots, and fulfilled similar roles for all previous releases, at least as far as non-unique troopers are concerned. Past releases indicate that the Imperial releases will most likely be some kind of box with two activations, one corps unit and a "detachment" whatever that means, with Heavy, Personnel, Training, Gear, and Grenades upgrades, and a "Creature Trooper" Support unit.
Well, I mean it's flawed in that non-game balance design factors can influence releases in wargames, such as issues with production.

As soon as you said it, it was confirmed, much like the tauntaun riders abd hoth troopers.

The only thing we can really count on is that the imperial releases will have similar upgrade slots and fill similar force org roles. They are releasing stuff like this so people don't have to buy both factions to get all the upgrades.
Right, but as I said in the quoted text, this can all be voided by production difficulties. That frequently happens in mini-games.

So far when FFG has production difficulties they push back all future releases. They are likely using the same factory for ALL Legion models, so a delay with one will delay all of them. If it's a design delay, then can hold off that whole matched batch of releases before starting printing, rather than announcing them. By the time stuff is announced, I'd imagine production is already at least started.
I don't believe 100% in a mirror of Rebel units (Dewbacks and veterans), I can see that being delayed until the next Imperial release. We might see some kind of Imperial infiltrate trooper...

clones did it first.. agreed, not a great design. The good news is that the clone version is legends, and the shore version is not widely known, tbough while a canon cannon, I don't think we’ll see it.
Extra points for the phrase 'canon cannon' though.
I'm honestly surprised we haven't had the Imperial tease released yet. I would have expected them to do it before now, if my theory on the Clone Wars reveal is going to take place at AdeptiCon is right. Then again, I wouldn't have expected two more units per faction released before the reveal, so who knows?

I hope you're right about the reveal of Clone Wars at Adepticon...I can't wait to get my hands on a droïd army + Darth Maul :3

They might dump a ton of stuff at Adepticon. New imperials, next wave of Legion, and the first CW teaser pics/models-in-glass-cases.

Or it's Hyperspace Report 2.0
It's also possible the Article team is busy writing stuff for Adepticon so hasn't had time to produce new previews.

There is nothing illogical about moar DAKKA

You take that back
Luke Eddy said on Discord (I think?) that the Imperial "detachment" weapon coming with the new Corps unit is something new they created just for Legion. He also seemed to confirm Dewbacks but that may have been a misunderstanding.

A probe droid was the “detachment” for an Imperial Veterans unit like the cannon is for the Rebels? Besides Solo’s train heist scene, I really don’t see them as a multi-mini unit. This would be an interesting way to get them into the game as a semi-autonomous single mini unit.
They could be paired with Navy Troopers or Shore troopers. My money is on Shoretroopers and then Dewbacks as the other unit.
less likely I feel. We saw in Solo Viper droids operating as a security force. I imagine they'll be a small unit composition with "Spotter" and "Scout" special rules and for good measure a self destruct ability...one thing that always annoyed me about Star Wars expanded universe was that if it happened once on screen, then it must always happen! Just mentioning that because SW Galaxy of Heroes gave the Viper a suicide attack...And the whole "only way to take down an AT-AT is with tow cables" thing that EU and games ALWAYS did.
