Ascension: Inquisitor's commissioned item?

By player156413, in Dark Heresy

Our GM asked each of our players to come up with something unique for thier first commissioned item, to mark out a fitting reward for being promoted to the ranks of Throne Agents.

My guardsman has become the groups Inquisitor and being focussed on melee combat, with some forethought about needing to be able to dish out substantial damage, i have decided on a Power Claymore (hand and a half sword). Designed to be used one or two handed and incorporating a powerfield and a suspensor to offset much of the weight for ease of use. Eventually i plan on leaning how to inscribe hexagrammic wards to make it holy and giving it other abilites.

One handed i was thinking it would have the same stats as a powersword but with the defensive qualiy instead of balanced (the suspensor).

Two handed.... i have no clue. what do people think?

Suggestions?

S.K.

Defensive seems more of a penalty than a boon - remember, it gives you -10 to WS when attacking.

Ditto to the abovementioned issue with "Defensive". That plus a sword like that really is more offensive then defensive in nature. I would leave Balanced in place, as it is about as good as you can get without eating a -10 to swing the thing.

As for base stats... Check out the Bastard Sword or perhaps the Longsaber in Inquisitor's Handbook. Pick whichever one suits your style more and modify for good/best quality and a powerfield. Alternately, just Lathe the thing.

I am an Inquisitor now. I need a weapon that fits my ego. Errr... Power weapons... standard crap, everyone has one of those. Chain swords... no, even my acolytes run around with them... errrr... wait! Servant! SERVANT! Get me ... a chain warhammer!

Sire, the Adeptus Mechanicus has never produced such a weapon, simply for its sheer inefficiency. I'm pretty sure such a weapon does not exist.

Does not exist? Perfect! GET ME A CHAIN WARHAMMER!!!

With the power to cast magic missile...AT THE DARKNESS!

I once had a player in one of my campaigns who didn't quite understand what a good FEL meant, and so inquired to the darkness: "Any foes out there?"

He later said " I accidentally the AdMech." The entire base went on alert and automated turrets started shooting non-techpriests (only NPCs, no TP in the party at the time) and everyone got all mad at him, including the AdMech lol.

There is the power sword from Rogue Trader that gives +15 to parry, all it loses compared to one from Dark Heresy is 1 point of penetration.
