I doubt that most would find their stats all that impressive, and their RP flavor is fairly ugly too.

There's a Zygerrian Jedi in one of the recent comics, you don't have to play to the slaver stereotype.
Edited by EoenFor the sheer volume of Clone Wars material out there, two books seems like a solid idea. Off the top of the head, what don't we have stats for yet? Acclamators, Venators, ARC-170s, Actis interceptors, Most battle droids, virtually any separatist warships, the entire clone trooper arsenal. That's just what immediately comes to mind.
And, since Era books seem to bring in stats for canon characters... dozens. Grievous, Dooku, Ventress, Mother Talsin, the whole dang jedi council. I feel like there is more than enough to fill two books.

One of my players is a Zygerrian Jedi that has a real hate for slavers and is indifferent to his people.

There are also Zygerrian street urchins in another of the comics. I don't think they are all like the elite back on the homeworld, they are probably common in their sector of space.

Sure, and you can play an Aryan German in a game set in the late 1930s, but everyone is still probably going to be thinking "Nazi" even if you're not a member of the party.
They’d be a good candidate for Brawn 3, Willpower 3, which don’t think has ever been done before in RAW.
Hutts in the Lords of Nal Hutta had a Brawn 3 and Willpower 3.

People's misconceptions are their problem, not the player's.
Regarding the number of books for the small time frame I think we have to remember that ROS will probably cover stuff leading up to the clone wars so may have a lot of temple life and hopefully running campaigns as padawans without the masters being around.
At the risk of asking a silly question with an obvious answer:
What race is sharky-flippers dude?

Karkarodon.

Great. Thanks! 🙂

Or have I just predicted the next announcement?
I'm more surprised it wasn't a new Core book. Considering how people have been screaming for 'real' Jedi since EotE beta and the massive scale difference between AoR's gurillea warfare and the open war most games in this period will be based around, I expected 'em to go the full mile (and price tag).
I don't mind two books though. There's a lot of content to cover in the Clone Wars, both mechanically (races, classes, stats) and the timeline (The Battle of Genonosis galaxy is a very different place to the Battle of Coruscant galaxy). I'm probably bias just because I really want to see a great tide of Clone Wars era content, but one book would probably be too crammed given their typical page count for these things.
Edited by ArbitratorSo I found it interesting that at the end of the announcement article, there was no listing of when to expect the book. Allies & Adversaries had a note saying to expect it in Quarter 2 of 2019 (though realistically probably either the end of Q2 or start of Q3), so make of this what you will.

Possibly. There's been a lot of requests for Clone Wars material, so it's probably not too far-fetched of an idea for FFG to try and milk that for what they can. Sure, they could have tried to do a new core rulebook for the Clone Wars era, but they've already gotten enough flak for having split the line into three core books (one for galactic fringe, one for Rebels, one for Force users), so a fourth core book might not have been all that well-received, especially for what is viewed by some as a slowly dying product line.
Dawn of Rebellion really only covered the last few years running up to the events of Rogue One, and didn't delve all that much into the earlier days of the Empire, when there was no Rebellion and the Empire was still consolidating its power. So I could see a separate splat being released that covered that initial decade or so, when the Empire really didn't have any opposition (apart from scattered resistance cells that were more akin to annoying gnats than any sort of serious threat), but that time frame is to be frank rather oppressive, though it might be a place to introduce the notion and provide tips/suggestions on running an all-Imperial campaign.
As others have said, Clone Wars covers a lot of material, from two feature films to five seasons of a what is generally a well-regarded animated series (I'm not a fan of the series, but acknowledge that I'm in the minority on that one). It's also possible that Rise of the Separatists will cover the years leading up to the launch of the Clone Wars, and Collapse of the Republic will cover some of those early years of the Empire after the events of EpIII.
And yes, there is the simple fact that folks have been asking for a Jedi career with attendant specs, and having said material split into two books is a valid marketing tactic as it increases the likelihood that far more folks will buy both books to make up for the likely much smaller percentage of folks that would only purchase the one of the two books if all the Jedi material was in a single tome. Money grab? Undoubtedly, but since FFG is a "for profit" business, it's really not all that surprising that they'd take an approach that would hopefully boost sales of both books, again considering that to many this is a dying line and thus there's less incentive to purchase books; the announcement of a giant book of collected (and new) NPCs is to some the initial death knell of this system.
Me personally, I'd have preferred a single, larger tome rolling everything into a single package, if only to not have to go digging through multiple books to look for something. But at the same time, I'm aware that said tome probably wouldn't generate as much revenue as two standard-size sourcebooks, and that as a "for-profit" company FFG is going to do what they feel is going to best generate revenue so that they can stay in business and keep the owners/stockholders happy. In the words of young Lando, "I don't like it, I don't appreciate it, but I accept it," as that is by and large the way the RPG industry works; really only WotC and Paizo are big enough that they can afford to have the occasional sourcebook turn out to be a fiscal dud due to the substantially larger customer base, so FFG needs to try and ensure that as many folks buy their products as possible. And if that means splitting Clone Wars material that people have been asking/pleading/begging/whining for pretty much since the line's launch, then they'll do it.
It also might be a test (much like Dawn of Rebellion was a test for era-specific books) to see if they can pull it off, so that if they delve into the KOTOR/SWTOR era (which itself could easily be two sourcebooks) they'll know whether or not they can use multiple books to cover more material, or have to settle for one book and cover far less material.

That would make more sense to me. A book basically on the late Republic ( The Phantom Menace era and maybe early bits of Attack of the Clones ) and a second on the conflict proper. I don't know that's what we'll get, though. I recognize that I'm in a very small minority of those who don't give two squats about the Clone Wars and would rather not have two books on one conflict. That minority is probably extra small in a thread where most people are saying things like "I hope we get stats for ARC Trooper #4580 and that tank from Episode 425 of the cartoon series.")

It would be pretty sweet to get an Empire focused book that assumes the players are going to play Imperials, and having that book cover the history of the empire would be a solid tactic

I think a Fall of the Empire book would be great stock setting and book for Imperial PCs. Everything you've known and fought for is crumbling around you, your superiors are showing just how incompetent/suicidal/insane they are, the desperation of the Empire to double down on it's 'order through fear' doctrine is testing your morals, the New Republic is winning and you as players know they will. It allows for a more mixed bag of PCs in a party because the established order is going to pieces and what's left of your command structure is throwing whatever might work at the problem. In Age of Rebellion you have nowhere to go but up, whilst in a post-Endor Imperial book you can only go down.
It would also help get around the potential issue of certain people being a bit squeamish to a book that encourages you to play PCs fighting for the Stock Fascist Empire with the overhanging thread of "you've lost, you just don't know it yet. Except maybe you do."
From a lore perspective it's also been covered a fair bit by Nu!Canon but not so much there isn't freedom for FFG to write in, unlike the Sequel Era that Disney seem desperate to cling onto denying third parties a foot into.

I'm guessing that FFG is waiting for Episode 9 to come out before they really start digging into doing any sort of post-RotJ era supplements. Yes, there was the TFA-themed beginner box, but that didn't expand at all past what TFA already showed us, and even the follow-up adventure didn't do much to expand on the setting.

With how the new movies are set up I don’t think the TFA sold well and I yet to talk to someone IRL who wishes to explore that “world” (to me I feel the setting is dead and there is no hope at all) I know many more who love the old EU and will love a new Jedi order book or a post RotJ book with everyone’s favorite blue guy

So you want a Chiss as the next Sith Lord. Since Chiss is the Space Smurf specie.

No, Pantorans are obviously the Smurfs. One of them even looks like Papa Smurf/George Lucas.
