Collapse of the Republic era book

By GroggyGolem, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

It's a good one, just like Rise . I have trouble deciding between them, in all honesty!

This is not OK. You can just announce sourcebooks like this if you don’t actually release anything.

I'm curious to see how much overlap/differentiation there is going to be between the Officer and Commander specs for the Clone Trooper.

Interesting species lineup for sure.

A companion/sequel to a book we're still waiting on.

Man I hope I live long enough to see this come off the boat.

So FFG clearly describes Dathomirians as high willpower by using all the synonyms for high willpower-

and then says they have “average characteristics.”

I'm hoping RoS was delayed for some reason and this'll end up meaning the two books come out close together.

Who's ready for BOAT PARTY ROUND 2????? giphy.gif

This just in:

The boat with Rise of the Separatists is going to turn around in order to bring Collapse of the Republic across the ocean as well.

I feel like it's only called Collapse of the Republic because so many were guessing Fall of the Republic .

On one hand I'm happy to see this. On the other hand I'll just echo what everybody else is memeing about the boat.

It feels like even Guts got off the boat faster than RotS.

Hey look! We seem to be getting the shark people and the spider people as playables. Too bad space is going to be wasted on repeating Clones and the (IMO unnecessary) Dathomirians. I'm hoping the "get to play a Death Watch Warrior" gets a full Specialization, and I'm wondering why Clone Commander is a distinct spec from Clone Officer, but maybe it will be useful. I didn't see anything in here about new Careers, just new specs, so I wonder if these Clone specs are going to be Universal (so you don't have to buy RotS to use them) or if they are going to be attached to the Clone Trooper career (which makes more sense, but requires RotS and if you have that, why repeat the Clone species?).

Either way, we should know by 2023!

I'm curious to know if they are going to bring in more "Jedi" specs for the Jedi career that they are introducing in Rise of the Separatists. There's only 2 known specs for that still, Padawan and Knight, right?

Mildly frustrating but it does sound interesting.

I'm wondering if Collapse might serve the same purpose as the spec books do for each spec... Like Keeping the Peace for Guardians, except Collapse is that to all classes in Rise.

Am I alone in thinking that two Clone Wars era books is one too many? I mean, couldn't they have just done one book to cover the whole conflict? Don't get me wrong: Any new FFG Star Wars is good FFG Star Wars . But this feels a bit like having Fall of the Empire when we already have Dawn of Rebellion . Or have I just predicted the next announcement?

I agree SavageBob. Honestly this announcement made me cancel my pre-order of the Rise of the Seperatist book. For the longest time I have wanted official stats for clone wars droids and vehicles and now they are telling me it is split over two books. I might have responded better if there had at least been movement on the pre-order.

I never thought they where going to do just one since the first is called Rise of the Separatists it implies the beginning. Also the clone wars is three years of intense Galaxy wide warfare.

Two books for three years seems a bit much in my opinion. (I'm speaking of in-universe time, not the time it's taking for these books to get published.)

A measure of history is the amount of time spent per individual, for instance in the 20th century more history happened because of demographics than in the entire previous timespan the human race has lived on the Earth. Imagine many trillions of people engaged in a war for three years over thousands of planets. In addition there are two movies and the clone wars series to cover, I guess they could have made another core size book instead.

2 books for 2 movies and 5 seasons of a tv show? Seems reasonable.

I'm disappointed Zygerrians aren't a playable race yet. Cool to see the Harche though.

Just wish they'd release the book they've been promising was on the boat since September? I'll end up getting this one too, but I hope it's before 2021

Be grateful for those Harches! Hyper-arachnophobe here, but I persevered!

One of my favorite NPC's is a Harche rebel intelligence officer, he totally creeps my players out.
