Bullseye Talents

By Ronu, in X-Wing

Even with fearless available I kinda like predator on Fang fighters since they re-position into red focuses. Otherwise I tend not to use bullseye-based effects, maybe I need more practice.

Isn't Marksmanship 1 point? Surely if you're on 199 it's worth it isn't it?

If I'm lining up bullseye anyway, I'd rather have the guaranteed value of Crackshot.

That 1 game where you lost the roll off and got arc dodged to death....

That other game where the Marksmanship crit went through and Direct Hitted something before it fired....

Personally, I always bias offensively :D

If I care about initiative I'm not at 199 points to begin with :P

Crackshot has zero value if the defender rolls zero evades.

Marksmanship has zero value if the defender has shields or dodges the attack. To put it simply, the only time crackshot doesn't have value is if you're getting everything you want anyways (all of your damage is going through), so who cares. Marksmanship doesn't have value in more instances and more of those instances are ones where you need value.

Oh yes, I know and agree. I was only pointing out a fallacy.

Even though Crack Shot only has one charge, it can sort of trigger multiple times. You have CS and the bullseye lined up, score 1 hit. I have a focus token and roll focus/evade. Either I spend it and you keep your charge, or I don't and take the hit.

Hmmm, so I was thinking about going with the usual Crack Shot on an A-Wing this week but I was wondering if it might be worth it to equip Marksmanship instead since it'll be able to modify the proton rocket?

I don't use Crackshot because I would only use it on TIE's...and Ruthless is better.

Marksmanship goes on Seyn.

Predator for Wedge and Soontir.

That's pretty much it for me!

If you're already shelling out for a Proton Rocket, then Marksmanship isn't a bad call. The trigger for the two is the same and - unlike most bullseye talents - it can work with non-primary weapons, and a 5-dice attack should be landing damage cards.

Crackshot only. It’s basically a guaranteed damage if you can get bullseye and strictly the best if you only get bullseye once with that ship, which I have found to be common.

You have to get bullseye twice in a game to get the same average value out of predator, but it also costs twice the points so really you need to proc it 3 times. Something I’d only take on Soontir or Poe who already get bonuses for getting bullseye.

I like Predator on anything that can reposition, but typically I run it on A-Wings with Heroic. Insurance offensively and defensively nigh twofold. Allows me to really screw up if things go badly.
