Well my miniatures are starting to clutter up my desktop. It's about time I got something to put them in. Anyone have any suggestions on some kind of storage case that fits Legion figures?
Looking for something to store my miniatures.
I have super glued magnets under each of my bases and then use a simple (wood) Jewelry transport case with "flexible steel" in it's bottom.
Hmm. Not a bad idea.
I use KR Multicases, which are relatively cheap and highly dependable.
I glue these magnets to the base of all my minis: FINDMAG 180Pcs 6x2mm Refrigerator... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CPMQJHF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I found a shallow 14"x14" plastic craft box at Michael's (a craft store).
I doubled sided taped a 12"x12" steel sheet to the plastic box. I found the steel sheet at home Depot and Lowe's.

I've also glued magnets to the bottom of my bases. I already had a Battlefoam case so I splurged last year and bought the metal tray inserts for that case. Links below

They have any smaller magna rack cases?
@Kingsguard Here is the link to the Magna Rack page. There are some other options on there but not sure what qualifies as "smaller" for you.

With the PACK352 I can easily fit most of my collection. The T-47's don't exactly fit but that isn't really an issue. All of the infantry fit just fine with room to spare, my Heavy and Support units sit on a shelf until I pack what I need to take with me.

At the moment I could probably fit my collection on one rack but I'd gladly get two for minis I might get in the future.
Okay! I just bought this one. 200 bucks is a lot of money but oh well. It looks like a good case and it probably has room to fit my X-Wing minis too.

Make your own with magnetic flair for upright transportation
If it's just organisation/storage, I'm currently using the two core set boxes with a sheet of metal in the bottom. Glued one 6x2 magnet in the base of each model (two in the AR-RT and Speeders). The magnets are strong enough to survive bumps and knocks whilst transporting the models in a car too.
If you managed to drop the box on its side, I'm not sure how big a jolt it'd take to knock some loose, but they do hold very firm. I'd go with larger than smaller magnets too, you can always add some paper below the models to reduce the holding strength when you're just using it for storage, but have them direct on the sheet for transport. Just slide the models off rather than pick them up by the head
It's surprising just how many minis you can fit in the core box, I have two full core sets of imperials in one box, two full rebels in the other plus fleet/snow troopers and spec forces, few extra commanders and room to spare. Not sure what I'll do once I've built the AT-ST and other models though, perhaps switch to some stackable boxes and bolt the sheet metal in the base.
That said, if I were transporting these often, I'd probably want something more like a carry on luggage case to stack boxes in and keep them all from moving around too much. The foam inserts seem like a good option there.

If you're willing to put magnets on your bases, many different cooking trays that come with lids are magnetic and only about five dollars at Walmart. I was able to fit two units of bikes, 4 stromies, 2 snows, and Vader, veers, and boba before I even considered another container.
I found this is a good for storing rebels minis

You fool, you're only fueling the flames of rebellion!
If you're looking for more than simple storage (ie, storage and transport) I highly recommend Battlefoam. Pricey, but the foam is excellent and their MOLLE cases are amazing. I've got a P.A.C.K. 352 and love it.
I did the metal tray in plastic cases as well. Instead of gluing them, I drilled holes and screwed them on. The plastic cases I got stack and lock together, so they work really well for storage and transportation. The problem I have had is that some of the larger vehicles don't fit in the cases. I still need to get a different case for those.

Unfortunately most of the baking pans I've been able to find are too shallow for miniatures the height of an AT-RT. Great for infantry/shorter vehicles though, and I've started using them for many of my historical miniatures. Roughly $20 (cost of glue, magnets, and pan together) for non-rubbing secure, stackable storage is a good deal for me.

I put metal on the side of one of my cases and store the AT-RT (and moisture vaporators) on their sides since they are too tall for the cases I have.
Maybe not the most useful of responses, but if your minis are varnished that you can fairly safely store or transport them in the generic storage solutions you find in hardware stores. The minis are light and the plastic flexible, they will take a little bumping in plastic tubs.
Personally I use plastic tubs inside a core set cardboard box to carry my army.

You think there's a chance I could choke on my aspirations?

Only if you don't evacuate in your moment of triumph

I can't speak for ATRTs, but the tray I have holds speeder bikes with room to spare. Not sure how it would work on ATRTs. The tray is at least 2.2x the height of a troop when the cover is on it.
I use magnets and a plastic box with a lid. I have several variants and more often than not put 1" x 2" boards on the side to make two levels
I just got a pair of wall-mounted ikea cupboard
