Unpopular Opinion Thread

Strain is a bland mechanic and adds unesssary complexity to the game.

Completely agreed. I don’t think it really adds anything good to the game just another cost to keep track of. A different cost that exists already would have been fine.

I’m going to add the unpopular opinion that the “new” factions don’t need to catch up, and we can still have old factions getting new ship types for new cards and new chassis while they get onboarded with their ships. Otherwise you end up with a player like me who shows up to play but isn’t really supporting the game store because I’m not buying any ships.... because I already have the ones they are rereleasing for my factions.

Jedi Knight + 7B is going to cost over 50pts and still be good.

Double-tap Dash was fine.

Captain Phasma is a bad crew card.

Based on how little she does in the films, she kinda should be a bad card. :)

I don't believe anyone that was good in 1.0 is good in 2.0 unless they show they're good in 2.0. Basically, nobody gets grandfathered in the "list of good players".

Dash needs more of a points reduction.

No, seriously, he got screwed over because of that silly i7 double tap gimmick. Roark’s ability should never have been carried over into 2.0. And neither should Torkil Mux’s...

Seven different factions suck

Before i could buy an iffy ship like 1st edition quadjumper and mess around with it in scum faction and determine if I want to buy more or not and just keep it for some dumb casual games, etc. Now, to test one ship I gotta buy into the entire faction. UGH. I like the Sith infiltrator, but not sure if I want to buy into the entire separatist faction.

Aces, Generics, and Mid-Int generics are costed fine relative to each other, including Lulo and the Black Squadron Scout.

Somebody is sniffing exhaust fumes!

I have one, I4 named pilots on odd flying ships are generally very fun, and Seventh Sister is secretly one of the best Imperial pilots.

Echo is better than Whisper.

Echo with Fifth Brother May be the most terrifying ship in the game 1 on 1, even without initiative.

What opinions do you have that you don't think many other people share? I'll start:

TIE Silencers are actually good

I agree, TIE Silencers are good. Advanced Optics are not.

I personally really enjoy Optics, especially on Silencers, but hey, it's your unpopular opinion, I won't judge! :)

I am attempting to turn this into a popular opinion at the moment. Sister's going into most of my lists, if I'm not flying Vader.

Valen Rudor's pilot ability is incredibly potent and would be broken on a better ship.

I'm in no hurry for 2.0 epic because 1.0 epic was slow and boring.

I miss NymRanda...

I’ll give you Nymranda if you give me double tap ion TIE/d back.

I loved Nymranda meta, because I beat the pants off it with my Ryad, Vessery, Inquisitor/Omega Leader lists.

Blackout is a great pilot and Dash needs a point reduction.

Every list or ship you think is difficult or skill based is actually easy.

Luke Skywalker is the best pilot in the entire game

The T-65 is the most competitive and flexible ship in the entire game.

T-70s are not as good as T-65s. Their pilot abilities are traps.

Before 2nd Ed was fully released, he was reported to be a pilot of the TIE Defender. Bullet dodged?

Large base ships could use another (small) point decrease.

Any ship with a native cannon or turret slot should be able to shoot twice (so, a T-70 would be excluded from this and negates VTG in a few cases, but B-Wings, Gunboats, and TIE Defenders get their double tap!)

Epic is so boring it hurts.
