Huge Swing Combos

By Revert, in KeyForge

I figured I would try to make a list of the combos that cause huge swings in board state or amber so that people can watch for them. Not including combos that are just 2 large effects on 2 cards (Gateway to Dis + Arise), or combos dependent on your opponent (anything with mimicry). Cards you have to hope aren't destroyed for a turn are okay.

Board Wipe + Loot the Bodies

Autocannon + Soul Snatcher + Bad Penny

Witch of the Eye + Inspiration

Library Access + Nepenthe Seed

Tendrils of Pain + Cleansing Wave

Played a great game yesterday with two even matched decks. The huge swing was "The Sting" and "Too much to protect" He took my amber from forging then when I bait and switched lots of amber back to my side too much to protect flipped the script again. We went back and forth a lot, but in the end the sting was the difference in the game. I was even ahead one key, but two even matched shadow decks and the last one to steal was the winner.

Nepenthes seed already in play

Hunting witch + dust pixie + dust pixie + Flaxia: 9 aember

Nature's call on the pixies and flaxia: 1 aember

Play pixies and flaxia: 9 ameber

Nepenthes seed on nature's call.

Nature's call on the pixies and flaxia: 1 ameber

Play pixies and flaxia: 9 aember

Profit: 29 aember.

Clench your buttockes that the opponent doesn't have the right Shadows cards...

Or just save the Nepenthes seed, as you already have enough aember to win the game!

I love the Nature's Call + Flaxia combo, use it a lot. Unfortunatly no Hunting Witch or Dust Puxie's in my deck.

Bait and Switch plus opponent's Aether Spider.

But the favourite of course is Hunting Witch 2 Dust Pixies, Chota and 2 Nature's Calls. Game winner.

Personally I'm a fan of Snudge and Gateway to Dis. Reap with Snudge, send either him (or often Charette for me) back to my hand, destroy the field, play Snudge.

I often find people underestimate Safe Place's interaction with Bait and Switch and Effervescent Principle

Plus Key Charge and Chota Hazri.

Sadly I don't have these in the deck, but I managed to generate that much aember once (and the variant without nepenthes as well a couple times) and it's really hard for the opponent to actually do anything about it... especially since the deck has a lot of creature control (so captures are just gonna die).

Key Hammer and Drumble. Get rid of your opponent's key, and then capture all of his aember.

I suppose it's a little dependent on the quality of your Dis creatures, but Use your Dis creatures>Gateway>Arise!>Play your Dis creatures again is fairly strong.

2 Firespitters on the battleline

Warsong

Loot the Bodies

Fight things you can't die to (elusive 1st fight, or something too weak to kill you)

Wardrummer, retrieving the Firespitters

Drop both Firespitters again

Relentless Assault, fighting first with Firespitters. By this time, your opponent's board is likely gone

Reap with any currently ready Brobnar.

For added fun, add Brothers in Battle
