Psykers in Ascension

By Elliecat, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

If anyone has an official answer, or can tell me how to submit the question for an offical answer, it would be much appreciated, but all thoughts are very welcome.

An Imperial Psyker on the Savant path, with the Templar Calix path. This allows you to have Psy rating 5 at rank 8. If the Psyker then buys "Psy Rating +1" at rank 10, do they get the talent "Psy Rating 6" with the attendant extra discipline powers, or do they only get the extra power dice? This also applies for Adepts moving into Interrogator or Inquisitor with the Psykers Gift, as they have several "core" psy levels to buy first.

Would you allow the elite buy of "Psy rating 6" from the Scholar path, allowing the Savant path Psyker to reach Psy rating 10?

For Psy ratings above 6 (assuming that the +1 does equate to the matching talent) do they also get additional powers?

Templar Calix swaps the int and weapon skill tracks, should these remain swapped for Primaris Psyker?

Is there any way for a Primaris Psyker to aquire additional minor and discipline powers? Would you allow them to elite buy these from the other career path (i.e. an Imperial Psyker may buy up to 30 minor powers plus any freebies from psy rating, and 12 discipline powers plus freebies), or would you allow them to buy extras in a similar fashion to the Inquisitors Psykers Gift, so still elite advances but on the Ascension cost scale?

Thanks!

If you're making the Psyker from scratch, you can use the top-down method and buy from both paths. If not using that option, you must stick to one path or the other.

I don't know any official rulings, but I would definitely give the "Psykers Gift" talent to Primaris Psykers in addition to the "Psykana failsafes" and her talent of choice; and give Scholars with psy-rating the option to select it as an ascended talent like Interrogators and Inquisitors.

I would also rule that the psy-rating +1 does not give any free powers. If you don't come from a psyker background it will be costly to develop your skills to high levels that late in your career.

I don't see why Templars should receive any special rulings in the ascended careers.
