Muse and Malarus interaction?

By isdblues, in X-Wing

Just a quick question, both Malarus & Muse have effects that trigger at the start of the engagement phase - can I choose the order they trigger in?

Could I for example, trigger Malarus's ability which gives him a stress, then immediately remove it using Muse's ability?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can and you could. It's pretty neat.

They both are, given that "she" is used when referring to "Muse" in the articles.

But yes, if you have multiple effects with the same trigger, you decide the order they go in. The only time you're locked into a specific order is if both players have things triggering at the same time, which means the 'first player' token decides which ones resolve first, or if something about a previous effect 'locks out' the future one (like stressing yourself stopping you performing actions).

As an example, Assaj Ventress can fling stress at you at the start of the engagement phase. "Muse" can eat stress at the start of the engagement phase. If Assaj is first player, "Muse" can remove the stress instantly on receiving it, but if "Muse" is first player, she can't because her 'go' has already been and gone by the time Assaj triggers.

Oddly enough, don't think I've read the articles in question - thanks for the clarification :)
