Can you use new ship cards from ships I didn't purchase yet, or don't want to purchase, on my existing ships? If so, do I need a physical card or do I just use the app to manage that? My impression was the app was supposed to solve needing to buy ships just for cards for your existing ships. Is that not correct?

My example would be having to buy Lando's ship to add L3-37 to my Firespray. I don't want Lando's ship but I do want his L3-37 as an option for my Firespray build. Thanks.

If you're playing casual, do whatever you want to do.

If you're planning non-casual, you will probably need the physical cards, depending on how non-casual you're going.

All the way at the non-casual end of the spectrum is official events like Hyperspace Trials and System Opens. There you should expect having a copy of each card in your list to be a a requirement. (At least for now)

On the casual side I've not meet anyone who cares about having the phonecall cards on the table. I usually use either an app or printout of my list at my weekly nights.
